24.01.2022 What’s one of those annoying things your dog has done before where you just go like: Why? Why was that necessary? I’m in need of a bath due to having a super sore shoulder.. but can’t find the bath plug anywhere... so I went to look in the backyard and lo and behold.. chewed up bath plug. Guess they weren’t happy we went on holiday without them for a few days . Little bastards.... So, what shenanigans did your dog get up to?
21.01.2022 Many dogs struggle with being overweight. The amount of times I read on a post he’s such a cute chunker... Being overweight can cause a lot of additional health issues. Please don’t tell yourself he’s big for his age or he’s just a puppy or but he looks so sad when I don’t give him a treat. ... Dogs don’t decide what they eat, we do. If you enjoy giving your dog treats, fine. Cut down on their daily meals. Is your dog eating quality kibble? Or is it the equivalent to junk food, full of fillers? Do they get enough exercise? If you need help, go see a vet (but think twice before you start on hills diet lol)
21.01.2022 Puppy Pre School For pups 10 weeks - 20 weeks old. Have to have had 2nd vaccination as we are on a public field. 5 week course, $150 in total. Dates: 23 jan, 30 jan, 6 feb, 20 feb, 27 feb. ... 9 am - 10 am. We will discuss house training, biting, socialisation and the use of the proper gear as well as toys and enrichment. We will work on engagement with you, working on basic obedience such as sit, drop and go to mat. We will lay the foundation of loose lead walking, and recall (coming back to you). Your pup also gets a chance to build their confidence with other dogs with supervised and monitored play at the end. Puppy Pre School is really a foundation each pup should have before going to obedience class for older dogs. Group limit is 10 and there are 2 instructors. To book in: www.thecompletecanine.com.au Don’t wait too long! Only limited spots left. For questions don’t hesitate to ask.
17.01.2022 The benefits of crate training are endless! I recommend it for nearly every dog, young or old.
13.01.2022 Muzzles are great tools and aren’t just for aggressive dogs. There can be many different reasons for them and you shouldn’t pass judgement upon someone who is using one for their dog. Muzzle training and conditioning is necessary however. Just grabbing a muzzle and sticking it on their heads is NOT how you muzzle train.
02.01.2022 I never allow onleash meetings in my classes and will recommend against it in general. Many people come to me and say he just wants to say hi to everyone. Tough luck. Your dog doesn’t need to say hi to everyone. It actually creates more tension, frustration and a dog that doesn’t focus on you when outside. ... It’s way better practise for your dog to be able to calmly walk by another dog than choking himself out to go say hi.
