24.01.2022 ...I bought it! What am I so psyched about? I just laid down some for @skillcrushs latest offering...Python for Web Apps and Data course its a Programming language Ive been dabbling in for a while but I found that a structured learning path would be my best option for mastering an employable skill set. I have taken a couple of their blueprints in the past and absolutely loved them. The way their instructors breakdown code into relatable examples is truly one of ki...nd. Oh, and the lessons are upbeat and fun, not a dry monotone that some coding courses use. If youve been thinking about getting into computer programming but have never written a line of code in your life, fear not my fellow cider girl, cause Python is where the partys at, and it dont mind if you dont know that...yet Enrollments have just opened and Id love to know if youre in the course so we can snake charm our IDEs together See more

17.01.2022 You know that coding class youve been wanting to take but dont believe youre smart enough to ACTUALLY code...so why even try? Yeah, that was me 5 years ago, when I first saw an ad for @skillcrush blueprints. I let fear rule my decision making for 2 year before I finally enrolled in their #WebDeveloper course. That was the hardest yet best decision I EVER made for myself, both personally & professionally. I now work with clients from non profits to startups who are looking... to build their online presence. My goals have evolved from front end development to full-stack/software engineering. Not in my wildest dreams would I have considered the possibility of having a career in tech...yet here I am, making moves, slowly but surely. 15.01.2022 As I sit here learning Python, Ive already experienced selftalk that goes a little something like this...*cue da beat yall* What are you doing, youre not smart enough to do this See, you got a question wrong, I told you you couldnt do this! You should be at the gym trying to trim down, thats more important than this coding bs ...and my favorite youre going to be too old to work in tech, so just pack it up & watch an episode of The Bachelor instead... Yes, I have legitimately thought ALL of these nuggets at one time or another while Ive been learning to code. See, Im someone who has believed her whole life that my weight, my appearance, my ability to look pretty & play nice despite people throwing mud at me was always more important than who I am on the inside, what I thought & my ability to do things. It has taken me over 15 years...yes, you read that right...to FINALLY acknowledge that there is so much more to me than those things. The number on the scale doesnt define me anymore, it doesnt even enter my consciousness. My NEW numbers are, how many lines of code I wrote today, how many lives can I impact by sharing my love for learning, how many projects have I completed, how many Converse shoes can I own before I need a new closet...these are my numbers. Quantifiable only by my ability to work hard, learn new skills & teach people why they are more than their bodies. Im still working on squashing that selftalk, never said I was perfect but Im on the right track. So, keep pushing yourself forward, keep dreaming those seemingly impossible dreams and figure out how to quantify them through goal setting, action taking & ass kicking!! 03.01.2022 Struggling to find the time to start that intro to coding course? First off, you have to discover WHY you want to learn to code. Once you commit to your WHY, start looking for ways to prioritise your learning. No, its not easy to do, but once you realise how important learning to code is, you will find the time. For me, learning to code was a way for me to initially update my marketing skill set so I could provide more value to my clients. This turned int...o taking the @skillcrush web development blueprint which turned into starting @nicolegeorgedigital and studying Software Engineering & Undertaking a Mastermind of Laws. 02.01.2022 BRAIN FOOD | You know the ones that we all know we should eat but never do, while spending hours trying to get that damn code to work! As easy as it is to get our hands on take out thanks to the convenience of delivery apps, reaching for nutritious options is becoming increasingly difficult. Trust me, Ive done my fair share of pizza when the coding gets rough...but after Ive never felt worse. Not because of the guilt about having pizza or anything like that. Its ab...out when youre in a moment where you need mental clarity to be able to solve problems, think creatively, try to find that pesky missing semicolon, you need ALL the brain power you can muster. Unfortunately, the nutritional value in a classic crust pepperoni pizza wont give you the fuel you need to get to the next level. So, I know leafy greens, organic errythang, lean cuts of protein & grilled over crumbed sounds as bland as yet another Jen Aniston movie, but I assure you, the benefits on offer far outweigh the convenience of burgers and fries on the regular.
