17.01.2022 Friday Focus: Scugnizzo Melbourne is famous for its laneway restaurants and cafes and Scugnizzo (which means cheeky, mischievous or cunning) is an excellent example. Owner and Head Chef Carmine Carannante’s, upbringing was in southern Italy and it shows in the menu with a range of house made pastas like the Tortellini di Capesante:... house made scallop filled tortellini in a light tomato broth served with crispy eggplant. Carmine aims to bring you the colour and the warmth of his childhood in Southern Italy. As expected, Scugnizzo’s traditional Italian food and warm hospitality is popular with locals. Daily blackboard specials feature a variety of dishes such as a homemade pasta or fresh fish of the day and are anticipated by regulars keen to try something new. 14.01.2022 Friday Focus: Sally's Paddock Redbank Winery In 2019 the famous Sally’s Paddock vineyard celebrated 46 years, and in that time the building of a family obsession like no other; just like their famous Sally’s Paddock vineyard, the Robb family have their roots planted deep in the Pyrenees soil. Today, the winery continues to operate on the principles of those early daysproducing exceptional quality, handmade, estate-grown wines. The winery and cellar door building itself boast...s a proud and intricate history. Built from recycled hand-made bricks (bearing the thumbprints of their maker), imposing wooden beams extend across the ceiling, while the rear section of the winery was built in later years with mud bricks sourced from the earth where the lake and island lie today. At Redbank Winery the cellar door is open every day from 10am, and they welcome guests to come and enjoy a selection of wines, or a bite to eat from the deli, in the heart of the Pyrenees.
