16.01.2022 PLANT X Presents Angus Fisher - Botanical Scientific Illustration online tutorial and video this Sunday FREE ONLINE SESSION * Sunday 16 Aug * 2:00pm - 3:00pm. ... Angus will be featured as part of the Orange Cowra Cabonne Science Hub. Join us this Sunday as Artist Angus Fisher presents an introduction to botanical/scientific illustration. Go to link in BIO for bookings or thecorridorproject.org/science-hub Orange Cowra Cabonne Science Hub presents PLANT X a series of presentations + tutorials a collaboration between artists and scientists with acclaimed Sydney based artist Angus Fisher. This workshop explores how you can draw botanical and scientific illustrations. Please register for the presentation. The session will be shared via Zoom. Angus Fisher’s art practice investigates nature and humankind’s relationship with the natural world. For Fisher, the idea of nature is not a static term, but an evolving concept. Through the detailed study of natural subject matter and natural history, his work grapples with the idea of how nature exists and has existed, in the huma imagination. Fisher does not only investigate ecology through his subjects but the evolving attitudes and changing philosophical interpretations of the wider natural world. Primarily working with etching and drawing, he utilises traditional working techniques, methodologies, and aesthetics to place his work in direct connection to historical contexts and traditions. Angus has a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the National Art School and has had exhibits with the Australian Galleries since 2012. The Orange, Cowra, Cabonne Science Hub and the Department of Primary Industries supported by Inspiring Australia, DPI-Orange, and the CORRIDOR project will deliver a program based on the 2020 International Year of Plant Health Register for online presentations and free resources at https://www.thecorridorproject.org/science-hub @AusScienceWeek @inspiringnsw @jackie_randles @drjordanbailey @creatensw @artsoutwest @angusfisher @australiangalleries #scienceweek #Internationalyearpofplanthealth #nationalscienceweek
