This article clearly explains the differences as shyness and social anxiety are very different. Many shy people live happy and content lives and in contrast, many extroverts suffer with fear and anxiety around social interactions causing negative implications in their lives. 21.01.2022 It's Children's Week and there's no better time to reflect on the relationships that we have with the little people in our lives. 16.01.2022 I just saw this article posted on another Facebook group and cannot agree more with the sentiments expressed. The big take home message here is that it is OK to label the behaviour, but it is NOT OK to the label the child.
15.01.2022 A nice "warm and fuzzy" article that gently reminds us how to show our love to our children...
15.01.2022 Its World Mental Health Day and this year one of the main objectives this year is to encourage help-seeking behaviours. Its an important reminder that good mental health comes from acknowledging when we need a helping hand and reaching out for help before a problem becomes too overwhelming. Its an important lesson for us as adults and a lesson to teach our children. Asking for help is a strength, never a weakness.

13.01.2022 With the emergence of ipads and tablets used by so many children and families on a daily basis... I find it fascinating to read this article and the observations that are made about the impact on child brain development. Importantly, it highlights the impact on children in relation to developing poorer social skills, greater aggression, obesity and depression. It's a great reminder to put down the screens and promote creative and imaginative play. It's also an important warning to limit screen time and ensure your child is experiencing diversity in their recreational time and daily life. Active kids are healthy kids! http://www.dailymail.co.uk//Why-iPad-far-bigger-threat-chi

06.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW: in Australia, on average, one woman is killed per week as a result of domestic violence? And domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women and children? While these statistics are shocking... we also need to remember that domestic violence includes a whole host of abusive behaviours including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, financial abuse and social isolation. Enough is enough. Let's take a stance this White Ribbon Day to help raise community awareness in hope that more women can live safer and abuse free lives. For crisis support and 24/7 telephone assistance, contact 1800 RESPECT (737 732) for further assistance. For non-crisis support and counselling, contact Tammy on 0403 111 283 to arrange an appointment.
