24.01.2022 Hello! Have you ever heard of Sid Dickens? He's a Canadian artist whose work is collected by celebrities such as Elton John, Phil Collins, Hilary Duff, Bono and more! He creates plaster blocks called Memory Blocks and they replicate a unique vintage and 'cottagey' style you don't find on other art works (although there are cheap copies, unfortunately). They take 5 people to create & some of them are 3 dimensional. Every year, some of the blocks are retired...and they become very hard to get. A block sold for $5000.00 on ebay a couple of years ago. Now that's what I call a great investment! Enjoy some of them here....
23.01.2022 Hey everyone! I've opened up a vintage display in my little shop and it reminded me of all the china I used to be crazy about when I lived in the USA. So, searching Pinterest (yet again!) I found some really quirky and beautiful traditional teapots to share with you. What's your favourite? Do you like quirky....or classy!! You can post your favourite teapot in the comments if you'd like to share!
22.01.2022 This gas station in Seattle, Washington, has posted humourous sayings outside its building for over a decade. I just came across it by accident looking through Country Living magazine. Go check out the page...I am sure you will be chuckling as I am! wallingfordsign

20.01.2022 I'm back! From traveling, and helping my mum to settle into her new home. Good to see you here :) It's a horrible morning where I live - thunderstorms and driving rain. Typical change of seasons weather and I wish I could have stayed in bed!! But...we have to Keep Calm & Carry On! I've been busy painting too. We're opening a second shop downtown in a couple of months and I'm doing all my cabinetry white and retail furniture in colours.... Found some lovely Vintage things to revamp...here's what I have got through so far.....info on the pics. Wishing you a great day...wherever you are! See more

14.01.2022 CRATES! Some people are so inventive with vintage crates..I am green with envy that these are so difficult to get hold of in Oz. I have to buy new, which isn't quite the same. Check these out...some of them are sooooooooo pretty! Photos courtesy of Pinterest :)

10.01.2022 Hi there! When I was a young girl living in the UK, my parents used to take my sisters and I camping in the north of France. We would stay near St Malo for a month or more and so we got to know the region very well. By the age of 11, I could speak French quite well and mum would send my sister and I to the village boulangerie for bread and crepes. I have always loved visiting France and lately I have been looking at what is for sale..much to the Cottage Lover's horror!! I think I have been brainwashed by Escape to the Chateau! I'm posting some authentic French interiors for you...as I work my way through this current crush!
09.01.2022 Do you love painted furniture? We do! Apart from saving a ton of $$$ a revamped furniture piece becomes a unique talking point in your home and if you add colour, a statement! Here are some of the pieces I have done recently :)
09.01.2022 Hello! Back in June, i posted a photo of the Cottage Lover busily remodeling our old garage to create a studio for me and I thought you'd like to see if he ever got it finished! Here it is. I am one very happy revamper now!
09.01.2022 Hello! Last year I posted the history and significance of the Nutcracker - which was quite interesting..and a bit creepy!! This year is the turn of Tomte or Nisse. You probably know him as the Swedish gnome you see looking awfully cute in the shops at Christmas with his long fluffy beard and cute button nose!... Not many people have seen them because they are very shy and live in the woods and is a mythological creature from Scandinavian folklore today typically associated with the winter solstice and the Christmas season. I have found pics from Pinterest of Tomte for you to enjoy!
08.01.2022 Hi all! With Christmas only a couple of months away, our focus tends to gravitate to all things magical and Blessed. For this post, I'm looking at the origin of the Nutcracker...the first photo explains all about him. Of course like anything else, his character changes with the times...as does his size and the fact that he now has Lady friends! Photos via Pinterest :)
08.01.2022 I love lanterns! Do you?
