25.01.2022 & ~ This morning I received an order in the mail I was super excited about opening For all my fellow teacher friends and parents with young children learning to write, you will know how hard it is to find resources that use the correct font for your state or territory here in Australia. I was amazed to discover @williamready2017 on Instagram last week and instantly had to get my hands on a set of these Click and Conne...ct Stencils which not only come in Victorian Modern Cursive but also NSW, QLD and SA fonts (WA, TAS & ACT use the VIC Modern Cursive Font as well). 20.01.2022 ~ Sensory play is not only a wonderful way to entertain your child, but a great way to incorporate sensory stimulation!... ~ If you have come to any of our events at @bendigomarketplace , you will know that here at The Creative Minds Co, we LOVE sensory play and it is secretly one of our favourite activities to set up. ~ Aside from being oh so much fun to create, sensory play scenes engage so many of the senses which is why children are so drawn to this style of play. ~ This is a mini sensory tray I set up during the week when my daughter asked me for an ‘Easter activity’ for her to do. It took me less than 5 minutes to whip out the shredded green paper (grass) and pop in some plastic Easter eggs, chicks, rabbits and other bits and pieces. It instantly captured her attention with the bright colours and Miss A played happily for a good 30+ minutes, placing chicks in eggs ready for them to hatch, matching up ‘mummy’ & ‘daddy’ chicks with baby chicks, plus hiding them all in the ‘grass’ to find. ~ The best part of sensory play scenes is the endless imaginary play that comes from these set ups. Children love being able to freely explore, investigate and create their own games & play ideas and it’s important that they have opportunities to use their imagination through invitations to play like these. ~ What invitations to play or sensory play captures your child’s attention and sparks their imaginative side? 20.01.2022 It was Friday Funday at the Bendigo Marketplace yesterday with our ‘Baby’ themed Pre-School Play Sessions Babies were bathed and cared for, ‘Rock-a-bye Baby’ & ‘Miss Polly had a Dolly’ were sung. Our story of the day was the wonderfully fun Alison Lester book, ‘The Very Noisy Baby’. We even had a mobile craft to go with the story featuring the animals and all of the funny sounds the baby made throughout the book.
