25.01.2022 From your Pastor WRONG ASSOCIATIONS 1 Co 5:9-13 "When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasnt talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or... is a drunkard, or cheats people. Dont even eat with such people. Our Lord Jesus prayed, FatherIm not asking you to take them out of the world, (John 17:15) We were never meant to be taken out of the world as soon as we were saved so that what the world does would not continue to influence us. The world is the world and indulging in sexual sin, being greedy, cheating, and being idolatrous is what it does. But when a person claims to be a believer and yet continues to do any of those things or cannot be distinguished from any regular unbeliever, then association with such a person only makes Christianity look fake, lacking its savouring effect. Of the above-mentioned practices, greed is one of great concern because it often comes camouflaged as want. Generosity, however, is not determined by ones available assets, but by the willingness to share what the Lord has provided without thought of whether we will have enough for ourselves. The Holy Spirit tells us not to have anything to do with so-called Christians who claim to believe in Christ but live like the world. So, if you are a Christian, but are guilty of the things listed in the above passage, especially greed, dont be surprised if true Christians will avoid you and leave you to live like the world on your own. In 1 John 2:6, we read, Anyone who says he is a Christian should live as Christ did. Blessings Ps Gino

25.01.2022 From your Pastor... GAGGING THE SPIRIT In I Thessalonians 5:19, by the Holy Spirit, the apostle Paul says, Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. The word stifle means, make (someone) unable to breathe properly; suffocate.... In the context of the above passage, the term is used in relationship to prophesy in the church. But stifling the Holy Spirit applies equally to his Voice within the believers heart. The Lord Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit came, he would lead us in all truth, and teach us everything (John 1 4:16, 26). But how is the Holy Spirit free to do that if we suffocate him? If we, having grieved him (Ephesians 4:30), cause him not to breath properly? If we are born of the Spirit, we need to listen to the Spirit. However difficult it might be for us to follow what the Spirit of God in us says, knowing that he is the Spirit of truth, (John 14:17) we should listen and obey. Remember what the Holy Spirit says in Hebrews 10:29-30, There is punishment for those who have insulted the Holy Spirit who brings Gods mercy to us." So, when the Spirit of God speaks and moves upon you, listen! It will be for your present help and eternal good," Blessings Ps GINO

25.01.2022 From your Pastor REVERENCE Leviticus 22:31-33 (NLT) You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord. Do not bring shame on my holy name, for I will display my holiness among the people of Israel. I am the Lord who makes you holy'. It was I who rescued you from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. I am the Lord....Continue reading

22.01.2022 From your Pastor DISCIPLINE SHOWS TRUE LOVE Jeremiah 30:11 For I am with you and will save you, says the Lord. I will completely destroy the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you, but with justice; I cannot let you go unpunished. We have been led to believe, by the so-called experts in the fields of relational psychology, that love is demonstrated only when we make life pleasant for the one loved. But God se...es things differently. True love, as far as God is concerned, does not exclude discipline and punishment when needed. In the above passage, the Lord makes a firm and all-encompassing promise to his people. It is a promise of manifest presence, salvation, and preservation. Yet he does not exclude discipline and punishment. But why? Because he both, a God of love and a God of Justice. God loves us, but he will not spare his rod of correction. He loves us, but for the sake of saving our souls, he will let certain experiences and situations become his earthly discipline and punishment. So, in view of Gods firm hand in dealing with these people Jeremiah prayed, (Jer. 10:23-24) I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course. So correct me, Lord, but please be gentle. Do not correct me in anger, for I would die. If you are under correction, Trust Gods love and protection. Know that God never corrects in anger. He corrects in Justice and for the purpose of preparing us for his eternal and glorious kingdom. Blessings Ps Gino

21.01.2022 From your Pastor THE BEST IS NOT YET (The wedding in Cana) John 2:9-10 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. A host always serves the best wine first, he said. Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now! The Living Bible translates, You have kept the best for th...e last." (LB) What the Lord does seems to always come later than we expect, but when it does come it is always the best. The MC spoke about the common practice at any feast. The best wine was always served first to make a good impression on the guest and then, when the best wine had had its effect on the guests, the lesser quality would be served. The human approach, however, is not how God works. Its the work of the enemy to start with a bang and end with a fizzle. But when the Lord is present with us things may start with the bare essentials, but end in major victories. The Lord has kept the best for last for those who have invited him into their lives, both, in relation to this life and eternity. Praise the Lord! So, learn to pray, "Dear Lord, grant me the wisdom to wait on you and trust in your loving care when things are lean and difficult for I believe that in the end, you will always do what is best for me." Blessings Ps Gino

21.01.2022 From your Pastor REPENT IN TIME Joel 2:12-13 "That is why the Lord says, Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Dont tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.... Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Repentance is not a process available indefinitely. It provides a reprieve when it is expressed, but, to be effective, it has to be exercised in a timely fashion. Repentance must be expressed when we recognize that our actions have resulted in a negative outcome. Now, because God does not want anyone to perish, he keeps on appealing to his people for as long as he knows that repentance will change the negative outcome of their actions. It follows that its when repentance is called for that the heart must be given back to God and repenting done with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Some people fast, weep, and mourn because they think that by doing these things, they can gain merits with God, but instead of returning to God, they simply tear the clothing in grief. Ecclesiastes says that there is a time for everything under heaven and, therefore, there is a time for repentance as well. When that time has passed, however, repentance becomes irrelevant. Noah preached for 120 years (II Peter 2:5) and no one repented. When at the end of that long wait God closed the door of the Ark (Gen.7:16), it mattered not how much people repented, the time had past and repentance would not change the negative outcome. After the Lord has returned, in the face of the evident fulfilment of his promise, many will want to repent and will knock at the door of heaven asking to be admitted, but It will be too late (Matt. 7:11-13). Today is the day of salvation. Repent in time and live. Blessings Ps Gino

19.01.2022 From your Pastor DIFFERENT THINKING Isaiah 8:11-15 (NLT) "The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think as everyone else does. He said, Dont call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and dont live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heavens Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah, he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes ...them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare. Many will stumble and fall, never to rise again. They will be snared and captured. Believers are not to live in fear of what frightens unbelievers. Unbelievers live their lives by human forecasts and predictions, unaware that fear-mongering itself is driven by the enemy of humanity, the devil. He is the one, in fact, who controls the minds (John 5:19) of those who are perishing. (II Cor. 4:3) The Living Bible puts V.13 like so, Dont fear anything except the Lord of the armies of heaven! If you fear him, you need fear nothing else. If, as believers, we fear what the world fears then God will become the very cause of our downfall and destruction. If we fear what the world fears, then we will suffer the same judgement reserved for those who do not fear God. God only keeps safe those who trust in him. The prophet Isaiah, inspired by the Spirit says, (Isa. 26:3-4) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock. So, STOP Thinking like the world. Focus on God. Let him sustain you. He will keep you safe. The Psalmist, inspired by the Spirit says, Psalms 56:11, I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? (NLT) Blessings Ps. Gino

19.01.2022 From your Pastor Signs and warnings Isa.8:17-18 (NLT) I will wait for the Lord, who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in him. I and the children the Lord has given me serve as signs and warnings to Israel from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies who dwells in his Temple on Mount Zion. I don’t usually follow verse by verse commentaries of Scriptures but rather wait on the Holy Spirit to open God's Word to me. In relation to this passage tho...ugh, I found the NLT Study Bible to have some key things to say. So here is what it said in relation to these two verses. 8:17: "I will wait for the LORD . . . I will put my hope in him": Isaiah’s message against Syria, Israel, and Assyria would be proven true in the historical events that followed. The fulfilment would further encourage the godly to await the final downfall of all ungodly power structures (see 8:9-10). Waiting for the Lord requires submission, prayer, hope, and faith (see 25:9; 26:8; 33:2), resulting in a quiet spirit and a renewal of inner strength (40:31). The book of Hebrews applies these words to Jesus Christ (Heb 2:13). God had turned away; the people of Israel and Judah were alienated from the Lord because of their sin. (NLT Study Bible) 8:18: "I and the children the LORD has given me" (see the application to Jesus Christ in Heb 2:13): The names of the prophet Isaiah and his children carried significance as signs and warnings. Shear-jashub (a remnant will return; 7:3) was a sign of God’s faithfulness to Judah. Maher-shalal-hash-baz (swift to plunder and quick to carry away) signified the destruction of Damascus and Samaria (8:1-4) and the desolation of faithless Judah (8:5-8). The name of Isaiah (Yahweh is salvation) itself signifies that salvation is from the Lord alone. These three names also represent major themes in the book: the remnant, the desolation of Judah, and salvation. Immanuel (God is with us) embodies all of these themes, along with the idea that Judah would be protected if only it would trust in the Lord. (NIT Study Bible) Sin alienates and protection is only promised to those who trust in the Lord. So, wait on the Lord with a humble and patient attitude and he will fulfil his promises in your life. Blessings Ps Gino See more

18.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day Crossroads Family! To all the Fathers we want to encourage you and lift you up in prayer as you carry the mantal of Christ example to your children, and all those who see you as a wittness for Him. Dedicate your children to God and point them in the way that they should go, and the values theyve learned from you will be with them for life. Proverbs 22:6 (The Passion Translation)... So now, beloved ones, stand firm and secure. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (The Passion Translation)

17.01.2022 From your Pastor ASK GOD FOR GUIDANCE Isaiah 8:19-20a (NLT) Someone may say to you, Lets ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do. But shouldnt people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Look to Gods instructions and teachings! There are some who believe that the dead have insight into the future and they, now in the afterlife, can provide gui...dance for the living. And so, feeding into that false idea, those who think they have the skill to call up the dead, use different tricks to deceive those who seek guidance. Scriptures, however, make it clear that no one, not even the devil himself, knows the future and anything that the alleged dead person may say, is demonically generated and is, at best, an educated guess and, at worst, something based on generalisations. In fact, only the Lord God knows the future and will not reveal it to anyone prematurely. Nevertheless, when in doubt, one can ask God for guidance by looking into His Word. And that means that, when were in a difficult situation and dont know what to do or where to turn, we can find Gods guidance in His Word. In Psalms 119:105 we read, Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path, (NLT) In Jeremiah 33:1-3 we read, While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the Lord gave him this second message: This is what the Lord saysthe Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the Lord: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come." Dont fall for false guidance. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, or you will experience what the world is experiencing now. Because they have turned to the so-called experts and not sought Gods guidance, they are now experiencing what the rest of the above passage says (Isa. 8:20b-22) People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness." Ask the Lord for guidance. Search his Word. All other forms of guidance are but a false prognosis. Blessings Ps Gino

15.01.2022 From your Pastor MIND CONTROL Rom 8:5-8 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature (the flesh) think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under... the control of their sinful nature can never please God. The flesh is a euphemism for our instinctive way of living. It represents what controls our lives when our appetites and basic desires dominate our thoughts, words, and actions. It’s not really a matter of outcomes, but of the source. Sinful living is bad, but it’s bad because it is the outcome of a flesh-controlled mind. And because its source is bad the outcome is also bad and it results in death. The only solution to a flesh-controlled mind is letting the Holy Spirit control it. When, in fact, we're controlled by the Holy Spirit, instead of being destined to death, physical and spiritual, we’re led to life and peace now and forever. The problem is that the flesh does not easily relinquish control of its victims and will fight tooth and nail to keep our minds subject to our most basic instincts. It was so from the beginning and it has been so throughout the history of the human race. The flesh cannot be reformed. It must be killed at the cross. Put to death (says the apostle Paul) so that you might live by the Spirit. There is no pleasing God through the flesh. So, if you’re still controlled by the flesh, you’ll never please God regardless of how hard you may try. Live therefore by the Spirit. Let the Spirit control you. And you will find the life and peace you so desperately seek. Blessings Ps Gino

10.01.2022 From your Pastor ON BEING A CHRISTIAN Then he (that is Jesus) said to the crowd, If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23 NLT) If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. (Matt 10:38 NLT)... From both, the positive and negative angle, the Lord Jesus tells us that our cross (not to be confused with Jesus cross) needs to be taken up daily if we want to follow him; if we want to be his disciples. But what does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? People tend to develop their own ideas of what it means; ideas which are often, contrary to the teaching of Gods Word. But, being a follower of Jesus is not a call to hide our humanity, never show any weakness, or never admit to despair. It simply means taking up ones own cross (our human nature with its weaknesses and failures) and follow Christ in spite of it. Are there struggles in your life? Are there weaknesses? Are there failures? That is the lot we all share. It is our cross. It is what the apostle Paul calls, this body of death (Romans 7:24 NKJV) But that is not a reason to give up following Jesus. Instead, he told us to take them all up and keep on following. Humanity is not an excuse for not following Jesus, for, in fact, we can only follow Jesus as humans. So, take up your humanity (your cross) with all its awkwardness and limitations and follow Jesus in spite of it. Eventually, our crosses will be laid down and we will be able to sore into the heavens in the freedom of resurrected souls. Eventually, this body of death will give way to a body of life and the weight of the cross will be lifted forever. Praise the Lord! . Blessings Ps Gino

08.01.2022 From your Pastor... TWO BAPTISMS John and Jesus baptism are often confused with each other and Johns baptism is often used as a validation for Jesus. The two, however, are not one and the same and are not aimed at the same objective. There are a number of things that set them apart: Johns baptism was for the Jews (Israel) (Isaiah 40:3-5 & Mark 1:5) ... fulfilling prophecy (Luke 3:8) Jesus baptism was and is for all people; Mark 16:15-16 Johns baptism was not done in anyones name Jesus baptism was to be done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; Matt. 28:18-19 Johns baptism was symbolic of a desire to turn from sin and turn to God in repentance; (Mark 1:4; Acts 19:4) It followed confession (Mark 1:5) and deals with the results of sin. Jesus baptism is symbolic of a desire to die to sin and bury the past (Romans 6;1-4); It follows belief (Mark 16:15) and deals with the root of sin (I John 1:8-10) Johns baptism was time-restricted, and it became obsolete (Acts 19:1-7) Jesus is a spiritual necessity (Mark 16:15); it confirms salvation and identification with Christ. The two baptisms are similar only in the sense that they are done by men by John himself or any of Jesus disciple past or present (John 3:22-26; 4:1-3)- and both involve the action of water immersion. But in every other sense we are dealing with two completely different baptisms. It is therefore, wrong to use Johns baptism as a picture of Jesus baptism. The former is not equal to the latter and any attempt to package them together only confuses those who desire to follow Jesus. Have you been baptized of Jesus baptism? It is only when were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that we are assured of our salvation. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mark 16:16 NLT) Blessings Ps Gino

08.01.2022 Good morning Crossroads Family! We welcome you to join us for a time of Praise & Worship to our Savior & King!

07.01.2022 Happy Sunday Service! It's gonna be a hot one, please bring water with you, so that you can stay comfortable during our time together. See you soon.

07.01.2022 From your Pastor... THE MIGHTY WARRIOR Isaiah 59:15b-19 The Lord looked and was displeased to find there was no justice. He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him. He put on righteousness as his body armour and placed the helmet of salvation on his head. He clothed himself with a robe of vengeance and wrapped himself in a cloak of divine passion. He will repay hi...s enemies for their evil deeds. His fury will fall on his foes. He will pay them back even to the ends of the earth. In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify him. For he will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord. When "the people of God" -Christians to be specific- fail to intervene on behalf of the oppressed -those in their circle who are being abused, treated unfairly, and demeaned- the Lord will take it upon himself to intervene personally. He will become the hero of the oppressed. Now, for God, who is love, to become an avenger, there must be a very good reason. And the reason is found in the phrase, He will repay his enemies." Those who abuse justice and in so doing oppress the poor, the orphan, the widow, or their neighbour because of race, colour, gender, and status, are not simply the enemies of the oppressed; No! they are the enemies of God himself. And he is not going to let them get away with the oppression just because those who serve him fail to intervene. So the lesson here is twofold: the Lord expects those who belong to his people to intervene when justice is abused, but if they dont the oppressed can be confident in the intervention of the Lord. Either way, God will settle the score and restore Justice by lifting up the oppressed from their misery. Have you been abused? Are you oppressed by the enemy of your soul? If your brother or sister in Christ doesnt intervene, the Lord will. So trust in him and let him become your avenger. Blessings Ps Gino

06.01.2022 Happy Sunday Service See you 10am Join us for Praise and Worship and The Word

05.01.2022 Join us this Sunday at 10am for a time of Worship and hearing from Gods Word.

05.01.2022 From your Pastor... PARTING COMPANY Matthew 18:15-18 The Lord Jesus, the personification of love, was not tolerant of those who failed to repent after being shown their sins and offered restoration. He actually taught his disciples to treat a brother with an unrepentant heart as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector. (NLT)... Jesus new commandment was to love one another and that would be a sign of true discipleship. But when disciples did wrong and remained unrepentant, the world would not see Christ in them, but rather people who dishonoured the name of the Lord. (II Peter 2:2 And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.) It follows that, throughout the New Testament, the Holy Spirit gives very direct guidelines on how to relate to people who claim to be Christians, but live in a way that shames the Gospel: Romans 16:17-20 Watch out for people who cause divisionsStay away from them. Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their won personal interests. II Thessalonians 3:1-5 and now, dear brothers and sisters,Stay away from all believers who live idle lives and dont follow the tradition they received from us II Timothy 3:1-5 in the last days there will be very difficult times. For peoplewill act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! Titus 3:9-11 If people are causing division s among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. As Christians, we should love those who belong to the family of God for it was commanded by the Lord Jesus and it makes for a strong witness to the world. But when someone has openly declared to be a disciple of Christ, and yet lives in a way that shames that name of the Lord, we ought to pull back and terminate our relationship with them. Friendship with hypocritical Christians gives the unbelieving world another excuse for criticising "...the Church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of truth." (I Timothy 3:15) Blessings Ps Gino

05.01.2022 From your Pastor Here are some quotes from the book Hot Tub Religion by J.I. Packer, an author whose books have greatly influenced my thinking and drawn me closer to the Lord. As in Richard Baxters sharp-sighted phrase, Overdoing is undoing, so overreacting is undermining. (p.129) In a dying world surrounded by fascinating fellow-mortals who because of their sins face a lost eternity, nothing is well worth doing as sharing the Good News about Jesus and... the salvation he gives. No form of love to our neighbor is so appropriate and, indeed, urgent as evangelism. (p.162) Sanctification is not natural morality, but supernatural conformity to the moral and spiritual likeness of Jesus Christ. (p.184-185) The thought I draw from these three quotes is that the path we as Christians are called to follow is not the path familiar to all people, but the one which sees the world through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Doing, speaking, and living must be all be done in view of Christian discipleship. Blessings Ps Gino

04.01.2022 From your Pastor... IN THE NICK OF TIME From the first few chapters of the Gospels, it becomes evident that God allows things to run their normal course to the point when a particular event might determine a different outcome than what was planned by the Lord or attempted to frustrate it. It was at those moments that he intervened miraculously and determined, by small adjustments, a totally different outcome. The events surrounding the birth of Jesus are examples of this ...divine mode of operation. When Zechariah had finally concluded that (he was) an old man and his wife (was) well along in years." (Luke 1:18), God, knowing the implications of such a conclusion, sent an angel to encourage him to keep up the good work the lack of physical rapport with Elizabeth would have prevented the birth of John. When Mary was about to marry Joseph and lose the opportunity to become the bearer of the promised Messiah, an angel was sent to announce the conception of Jesus by virtue of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) a physical rapport with Joseph would have prevented the virgin birth of Christ with all its inherent implications When Joseph had finally made up his mind to divorce (Mary) quietly." (Matt 1:19), God, knowing the implications, sent an angel to tell him not to do it. A divorce would have left Mary incapable of caring for Jesus. When Jesus was about to be born and would have, under normal circumstances, been born in Nazareth, God caused Caesar Augustus to issue a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world (Luke 2:1) if he had been born in Nazareth, he would not have been able to fulfil the prophecy about his birth in Bethlehem. When Herod, through his policy of intimidation, wanted to destroy the child-king, the Lord sent an angel and warned Joseph to leave immediately for Egypt (Matthew 2:13) If he had not left Bethlehem then Jesus would have been killed with all the other babies in Bethlehem. Gods interventions are not always spectacular, but always timely. Gods great wisdom in directing the affair of men is seen in determining the course of events at their source. We, unfortunately, want things to change when they have come to full fruition. But once a process has been set in motion, the Lord though still able to intervene, cannot undo the effects that the process has created. Its not that God is incapable of rewriting history, but he will not undo the law of sowing and reaping or cause and effect because we failed to act in the nick of time. So, if the Lord intervenes and speaks to you about something you need to do in the nick of time, dont hesitate. Do it in obedience to him for it may be the very thing that will change the final outcome of your existence and fulfil Gods will for your life. Blessings Ps Gino

03.01.2022 From God’s Word EVIL PEOPLE Proverbs 5:22-23 An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. 23 He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness." (NLT) From your Pastor ... Often, we think that God is out there quick to punish and condemn. But, unfortunately, most of our human woes are self-inflicted. Moses once said to a group of people, (Exodus 32: 23 b) ... be sure that your sin will find you out." And here we read that it is our sins that take control of us and hold us captive. The symbolism is appropriate and it paints a picture of unwanted bondage. Sin, in fact, is often the result of lack of self-control and great foolishness. God is not out to get us. He reaches down to save us. But we’re too busy doing our own thing and following our own passions to pay attention to his call. As a result, life is forfeited by our own doing. The MSG Translation puts it this way, (Prov. 5:22-23) The shadow of your sin will overtake you; you'll find yourself stumbling all over yourself in the dark. Death is the reward of an undisciplined life; your foolish decisions trap you in a dead-end. Let’s not blame God for our misfortunes. Instead, let us look at what we do and seek to abandon the way of sin that we may live. Psalm34: 12-16 says, Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. Blessings Ps Gino

02.01.2022 From your Pastor... PRAYER HINDRANCES 1 Peter 3:7 (TLB) You husbands must be careful of your wives, being thoughtful of their needs and honouring them as the weaker sex. Remember that you and your wife are partners in receiving Gods blessings, and if you dont treat her as you should, your prayers will not get ready answers. 1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. (NIV)... The way a husband treats his wife and the degree of ones self-control can either aid or hinder ones prayers. The two concepts -the way one treats his wife and the measure of ones self-control- may seem unrelated to prayer, but if the Spirit says they are, then they are. The mistreatment of ones wife and lack of self-control become roadblocks in ones relationship with God and make it difficult to petition God for anything. Therefore, before any form of petition can be brought before the Lord, the mind must be at peace and unhindered. If it is not prayers will not get anywhere. Prayer is not a religious practice, but an expression of the heart. If the heart is not right, then prayers are ineffectual. Blessings Ps Gino

02.01.2022 From your Pastor THINGS OUT OF NOTHING Rom. 4:17b (NLT) Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. The MSG translation says, Abraham was first named "father" and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.... God doesnt need preexisting elements to bring something into existence. His speciality is creating things out of nothing. In Hebrews 11:3 we read, ...the entire universe was formed at Gods command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Its not magic, where the hand is faster than the eye. It is a power intrinsic in his divine nature. When he decides to create something he simply speaks that thing into existence and sees its effect and conclusion even before its brought into existence. And that is why the Holy Spirit says that our redemption was accomplished before the foundation of the world. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but he has now revealed him to you in these last days. (I Peter 1:19-20 NLT) Are you in a pickle and dont know how to get you out of it? Are you at the end of your rope? Trust in God. He makes a way where there is no way. He says, "I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. Isaiah 43:16 (NLT) and in Isaiah 64:4 we read, For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! Isaiah 64:4 (NLT) So trust in him with all your heart for he is able to create out of nothing everything you need to inherit eternal salvation. Blessings Ps. Gino

02.01.2022 From your Pastor... BOUNDARIES SET BY GOD Deuteronomy 32:7-9 Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father, and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you. When the Most High assigned lands to the nations, when he divided up the human race, he established the boundaries of the peoples according to the number in his heavenly court. For the people of Israel belong to the Lord; Jacob is his special possession. When... you couple that scripture with Acts 17:26, where, by the Spirit, the Apostle Paul spoke to a crowd of Athenians, saying From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries." You come To realize that multiculturalism, though humanly desirable, is not Gods for humanity. And that because human conglomeration only resulted in a denial of Gods sovereignty. At the tower of Babel, in fact, when "...al the people of the world spoke the same language and used the same words." (Gen. 11:1) the consensus was to reach "...into the sky..." (v.3) and challenge Gods order of things. Are we then against multiculturalism? Are we then to favour division and become segregated by our cultures? No, the answer is found in dying to our respective earthly cultures and being born again into the heavenly culture. For, the Holy Spirit says, "...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" (II Cor. 5:17) And its when we are in Christ that, as we read in Gal. 3:28, "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female, For you are all one in Christ Jesus..." and we become one people, regardless of our cultural and national background, under the banner of Gods love. The apostle Peter by the Holy Spirit says, "...you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, Gods very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you had no identity as a people; now you are Gods people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received Gods mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10 NLT) So, forget your earthly heritage. Live by the new citizenship; the heavenly one. For if we all do, then the unity of heart and mind will be achieved and the cultural differences will become irrelevant. Blessings Ps Gino 1
