Go With-Yin Winter Warmer Enjoy an extended Yin Yoga Class, a decadent and healthy high tea and the healing immersion of a Sound Bath thanks to Sonic Embrace.... Winter is the season of introspection, hibernation and surrender. In fact, it is the perfect time to go With-Yin. Winter is the time of year when the days are shorter and the nights longer. It is colder and our natural tendency is to slow down, become less active and spend more time indoors. We carve out more time to rest and renew - preparing for the warmer months to roll back around when our activity picks back up. Sadly the developed world has got out of balance with the seasons. The On button is often permanently switched on. The use of un-natural lighting used to extend our productivity means our bodys clock gets confused and does not get to respond to natures call to rest. Most of us are overworking, its not our jobs we are often spending long hours on devices and social media. We are not giving ourselves enough yin - receptive, quiet and passive time. BOTH styles of yoga are suitable for all levels, all bodies and all ages. Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative practice, where we hold each posture for 2-5 minutes. Yin yoga targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues - ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body - rather than the muscles (which are the physical focus of Yang Yoga practices). All classes are 100% livestream broadcast, at this time as we feel this is the right thing to do. ... We have classes at different studios: Tuesday 6-7.15pm Vinyasa Flowy Wednesday 7-8am Hatha Yoga & 6-7.15pm Yin Yoga Thursday 6-7pm Yin Yoga & 7.45-8.45pm Yin Yoga Friday 7-8am Hatha Yoga We will continue to practice, to move our bodies, centre our minds and take this time of self-isolation as self-inquiry. To perhaps do all the things we have been too busy to do in the past. If you have never tried Yoga before all of the classes are beginner friendly. All this is via our Zoom booked through PunchPass/Mind Body simply register for the class prior (at-least 15 minutes) Then you will receive an email with link. Students have affirmed that they still feel connected and as if they were in a class unlike simple online videos. At the beginning of class we have a chance to check in, chat and speak to one another, we then mute our mics and begin, after class concludes mics are turned back on we all reflect and say goodbye. 05.01.2022 Come and breathe deeply to release and reset! Learn breathing techniques to improve your wellbeing! Learning to breathe consciously and with awareness can be a valuable tool in helping to restore balance in the mind and body. Your breath is directly connected to your nervous system, learn to calm your body and move yourself into your rest and digest state. Using your breath as a tool and learning these pranayama techniques helps alleviate fatigue, and calm down the anxious... mind. "Prana" means vital force and "Ayama" is distribution of energy. Because of our stressful lifestyle, we dont maintain proper breathing patterns during our days/lives. Throughout the day we usually breath shallow using only 30 percent of our lung capacity. Conscious and rhythmic breathing is an excellent tool to stimulate the relaxation response which results in an overall sense of well-being. See the event below for full details
