08.01.2022 Dear Teachers of aspiring professional dancers, Are your students wanting to take the next step in their training so they can start to build towards a professional career? Are there aspects of their dancing that you just cant quite seem to get them breakthroughs in?... Whether thats strength, flexibility, alignment, arabesque and develope height, injury prevention or just not having the line and stretch through their legs and feet that makes all the difference between a "good" and a "great" dancer? Perhaps you feel that lack of core strength or back mobility is holding them back from being able to achieve the next breakthrough towards their dream of a professional career? What if they could instantly gain access to their turn out and deep rotator muscles without gripping their quads? What if they could easily improve the height of their jumps, the line of their legs, their stability on pointe and in turns, and learn how to never get out of breath or sore after an intense class or performance? What if they could make all the things they are currently putting so much time and effort into, effortless, and spend that time instead on artistry, on their performance, on how they want to naturally express their newly transformed technique? What would that do for their chances of "making it" as a professional dancer? And what would that do for the reputation of you your school and you as a teacher? The Heal Yourself and Move Training Program is for serious, dedicated studio owners and teachers wanting their students and studio next step in excellence If this is something you know would make all the difference for your students dancing and performance ability giving them the chance to safely transform their body, their facility, their technique and their artistry and have a real shot at experiencing the crucial breakthroughs needed for a professional dance career... Then training in Heal Yourself and Move with Zac Jones is the opportunity you have been waiting for. This January Zac will be presenting Training Transformation Workshops for dance teachers at the renowned Turning Pointe Dance Studio Priority will be given to those first to apply so make sure you dont miss out on this wonderful opportunity! To book your place in the workshop Please contact Michelle on 0413 113 950 or email [email protected]

05.01.2022 While conventional sports may seem like the more socially acceptable way in Australia, it was the lure of ballet that has seen these two dancers leap to the top of their field.

04.01.2022 Turning Point Dance is excited to have Zachary Jones teach at our Summer Intensive Workshop. Students will learn how to become more flexible and increase streng...th without pain :-) Zac Jones has spent a life immersed in movement. He began training in ballet at the age of 8 years old with Lorraine Blackbourn. He is a graduate of the Australian Ballet School, a former soloist with the Queensland Ballet and Expressions Dance Company and is completely a Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography at the Victorian College of the Arts. As a Martial Artist Zac holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt and has been a teacher of Yoshinkan Aikido, is a Lakan (1st degree Black Belt) and licensed teacher in Filipino Arnis and has undertaken extensive and ongoing private tuition with Kung Fu and Russian Systema Masters. As a body-mindfulness and somatic teacher and practitioner Zac has studied Continuum, Ideokinetics, Skinner Releasing, Body-Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation and many other somatic approaches to expanding the potential of the body and mind together. For many years he has run a Pilates and Movement Rehab Studio in Melbourne CBD that specialises in merging the many different styles of training he has learnt and taught into one integrated system that helps heal and improve ease and quality of movement for any body at any age. A former Pas de Deux Strength and Conditioning coach and Contemporary Ballet teacher at the Victorian College of the Arts, he began to apply these methods to elite dance students, achieving great results. It is this synthesis of training, research and inquiry that he now brings to dancers, gymnasts, martial artists and athletes to achieve breakthroughs in their technique, flexibility, strength, power and injury avoidance and recovery in a fraction of the time it takes many other current approaches. As a result of implementing the Heal Yourself and Move program, students have improved dramatically in their ability to safely improve their technique, their flexibility, their strength and perhaps most importantly, the sheer enjoyment of movement, whilst gaining in body knowledge that will keep them safe and healthy into adulthood and their careers.
