24.01.2022 A Degree of separation . This morning, while I was driving to the gym at 4am, I was tired, my body was sore. . The average man on my shoulder said to me "Dan, its ok man.. you've worked and trained hard for the last 6 days, you've done more than most... you can rest today.. just go home and get back into bed with your gorgeous woman"... . I instantly had to remind myself of what my commitments were, what I am required to produce on a daily basis to ensure I reach my aspirations and to truly extract every ounce of success I am destined for. . This then brought me back to the thought that the 7 people I call on a daily basis, although they come to me for guidance and motivation; the difference between us, is a degree of separation. . I suffer from loss of motivation. I suffer from loss of discpline. I suffer from emotional stress. I suffer from physical stress. I suffer from mental stress. . We are the same. . If you watch my stories and wonder how I keep going and how I do not look like I suffer from the trials that life throws at me... this is not true. I struggle daily, but I CHOOSE to perservere, I CHOOSE to keep pushing. . 23.01.2022 The Process remains the same. . Everybody in their lifetime will always encounter trials. They will test you and they will challenge your ability to remain consistent. . Believe it or not, you are not the only one with problems which require solving.... . During these times, you must remind yourself; The Process remains the same. . What do I mean by this statement? . Just because you're tired from a shitty nights sleep, doesn't mean you can pause your commitments. . Just because you've had a disagreement with your partner, doesn't mean you can pause your responsibilities. . Just because you had a big weekend, doesn't mean you can come into work and apply 40% effort. . The process of being successful in everything in life still requires you to put in the same work as you do on a good day and a bad day. The playing field didn't change, your mental state did. . Just because your mental state changes doesn't mean you have earned the right to do less. . So, if you're feeling tired today and you've got some bull shit excuse about something that has happened in your life, doesn't mean you can slack off. . Your children, don't care if your hungover and you don't feel like being a father on that day. . Your wife doesn't care if you've had a shitty day at work and you come home and be a shitty husband. . Your manager doesn't care if you've had a big weekend and you have less energy to put into work today. . Your client don't care that you didn't sleep well and you can't deliver what you promised. . 22.01.2022 Challenge your perspective . Are you really who you say you are? . Do you honestly, hand on heart know that you are doing everything you can to concrete your success in your life?... . Are you really putting in that 100% effort? Or do you just say you are? . Intentions don't mean shit if your actions don't back it. . You can say anything you want to make yourself feel better but do others see you as you see you? . I had a conversation recently with a close friend of mine, someone who I truly admire who has gone through many trials in his life, and I said to him... there was a day when I realised, who I thought I was, was not how others saw me. . He agreed with me completely and said, he was glad I realised that and that he's happy to see how I've changed as a person. . This meant a lot to me because there was a time, when I knew I had more to offer, I knew I had a drive that could not be questioned but I extinguished this perception by my actions. . Are you truly an exceptional partner, father, son, friend, business owner, leader? . What do your actions say about you? . Challenge your perception. . Understand that when you commit to completing a task for someone or meeting someone at a specific time, this is the absolute most basic level of commitment. If YOU cannot even meet this level of commitment, I guarantee you, you cannot keep the commitment you make to yourself. . Start with a small step. 18.01.2022 No Plan B . I do not have a back up plan, I do not have a safety net. I do not believe in having one, when it comes to my goals and neither should you. . Why would you have a plan B when you commit to a new goal?... . So that you can tell yourself its ok to fail? . So that, you can ensure that you can fall into comfortability if you get lazy and decide not to continue your commitment? . Its stupid. Why create a pathway mentally to tell yourself, its ok to stop now, its ok, you've done enough? . Scrap your plan B. . Action your day as if you have no choice but to obtain success. . Back against the wall mentality. . Use the fear to drive you. Use the anxiousness to propell you. Fuel yourself with it. It is a tool, a very powerful tool. . Execute your ONLY plan. 16.01.2022 Self talk . So I talk to myself... probably a bit more than I should... . The reason why, is because I am always battling my lazy self. The undisciplined Dan.... . Here's a trick I use, and it could work for you... if it does, great. Use it as a tool, if it doesn't great! Check out the cool pic I posted. . Moving forward.. . As you know, I am at the gym and in the office every day of the week, without fail; I will train my body, prepare my mind and then get to business. I am also a very present father and partner. . Every so often, I find myself feeling tired, however during these times... I still need to be a great father, a present partner and a committed business owner. . This is when self talk is most important. I cannot just decide to stop because I "feel" like it. I've made a fucking commitment and if you make the commitment you must keep your commitment. . So, this is my trick... . Instead of saying to myself... "I am tired from a days work and can't be bothered taking the kids out this weekend" I say... "I am tired from a days work and my kids are not as important to me as me sitting on the couch watching Netflix . If the sentence doesn't sit well with you, then get the fuck up and take your kids out. . Lets try another one... . Instead of saying... "It is Sunday and I have worked the last 6 days, and I'm tired. I am not going to work today" I say... "It is a Sunday, and I have worked the last 6 days, I am not going to work today because sleeping in is more important to me than achieving my goals." . If it doesn't sit well, then get the fuck up. . Last one. . Instead of saying... "I deserve to get fucked up this weekend with the boys because I haven't drank in awhile" I say... "I would prefer to spend my time drinking copious amounts of alcohol, write myself off for the next 2 days because, my business, my family and my health is not as important to me than getting fucked up this weekend" . If it doesn't sit well, then stop being a little bitch and choosing comfortability. . 15.01.2022 Your ACTIONS will speak louder than your INTENTIONS ever will. . Actions trump intentions every day of the week. . Actions hold priority over your words every day of the week... . Your actions are what define you, not your words. . You know this! . Have you ever come across someone who says they will do something and then not follow through? Do you think, "oh wow.. that guy he had great intentions" or do you think, "this guy, can't even do what he says" . Your actions are important!!! Not only to other people but most importantly to yourself! . Each time you make a commitment in a "feeling" or during a "motivated" state of mind and then fail to follow through because you are tired or can't be bothered, matters!! It fucking matters! . Each time you fail yourself will create a habit where you think its ok to fail yourself, and this will then translate to your lack of responsibility to others! . Don't become one of these people. 12.01.2022 Dropping Plates, like I'm dropping bad habits. . You wouldn't noticed by now, that I have a relentless approach to my days, weeks and months. . I execute each day, as if it is a completely new day. I do not focus on the good that happened yesterday or the bad that happened yesterday... because it happened yesterday.... . Today... everyday is a new day, a new opportunity to dominate. . Each day, you successfully cease a bad habit and replace with a positive habit will inevitably bring you success in whatever it is you are doing. . As a younger man, in my 20's I would execute fiercely and make some really epic ground... but when something went wrong or something didn't go as planned, I would find myself less motivated, less determined, less focused. This is something I have now been able to grow out of. . And the trick to this is, yesterdays fuck up, yesterdays mistake, yesterdays oversight is for yesterday... today is a new day, which will present new challenges which requires your absolute effort and focus. . And this is the same for positive events occurring... if you won your week last week.. guess what.... it doesn't fucking matter. That was last week, your duty and new focus is to win the upcoming week. . Focus up. Execute it. Hardship reminds us of our vulnerability, our weaknesses, our insecurities and completely uncovers any disguise you may have.... . It will challenge you, test you, break you or make you. . Although during these times, you question why this may be happening to you.. the truth is, it's just fucking life. There is no explanation for it... 06.01.2022 I have been receiving messages from people who follow me saying that my work ethic and consistency has inspired them to commit to a new goal. . Reading these messages are extremely humbling. I feel very privileged to have been able to impact another persons life in a positive way. . As of late, I have had an increase in messages and I am starting to understand what some of my followers want to hear from me...... . The most spoken about topic as of recent is how I created my discpline. A discpline that runs everyday, not just Monday to Friday. Everyday. . Well, it's easy but also very challenging. . Lets keep it short and sweet and not complicate it. Lets not try and make it deeper than what it actually is. . To strengthen your discpline. . DO WHAT YOU CANNOT BE FUCKED DOING, DO IT WELL AND DO IT CONSISTENTLY . You're tired? Doesn't matter, do it anyway. . You've already gone to the gym 5 days in a row? Doesn't matter, go again . You've been working 12hrs and you want to go home but you have one more client to call? Doesn't matter, make the call. . 03.01.2022 Protect your Mental state. . The by-product of a healthy mind is a strong and healthy body, however the by-product of a strong body is not always a healthy mind. . Everyday, when I wake up; I go through a certain sequence to start my day. Everyday, not 5 times a week, 6 times a week, 7 days. Everyday.... . Why I do this is because I am looking to become a high performer in everything. I do not wish to be mediocre or average in anything I set my mind to and neither should you. . In previous years, I have noticed the only thing that ever stopped me from reaching the greatest of greats was due to my lack of being able to control my mental state. . This created inconsistency or just spurts of high energy for a short period and it would then drop off to almost NIL energy and NIL motivation. . There are 3 things I do to protect my mental state to ensure I am consistent with my daily tasks. . 1. Control my environment - do not put yourself in the position where you may be at higher risk of creating failure or a weakened mental state. Eg. This can be the people you hang around, or certain venues such as clubs or pubs if you wish to stop consumption of alcohol . 2. Control my FIRST thoughts in the AM; I usually gravitate towards humility. Eg. I think about how lucky I am to have a loving partner, great kids, a healthy family. I even think about how lucky I am to have such amazing clients who entrust with me such important tasks . 3. Provide fuel to your values and starve all distractions. - All the points above are important but this is probably the one I believe most people will have trouble with. Knowing your values and Acting in the best interest of your values are 2 very different things. By acting against your values will subliminally create chaos in your mental state. Ensure you ONLY ACT in the BEST INTEREST OF YOUR VALUES . A strong and healthy mind for me, is the most important part of my body. .
