16.01.2022 Well it looks like were in for the extra long LONG haul. At this stage dog groomers will not be allowed to re-open until the 3rd Step of the Reopening Roadmap. This will most likely be around the end of October. I am just as frustrated as you and would love to be able to provide the comfort your pups so desperately need at the moment. However, we must all do our bit to see this awful virus off without chance of a third wave and to be able to spend time with our loved ones... at Christmas. Please try and maintain your pups at home as much as possible with regular baths and brushing. If you would like recommendations for clippers, brushes, combs, detangling sprays please let me know. Ive made a few videos for trimming faces, hygiene and feet that I am happy to email through to you. Im also available for video chats if you would like a one on one practical demonstration. If youre not comfortable clipping nails, vets will do this for you and this really does need to be done every 6 weeks at least. With that said, if your dog needs urgent grooming due to severe matting, extra long nails, gunky eyes etc, your local vet may consider shaving them as its a health and welfare issue. Please do keep an eye on their hygiene areas, especially around the bum and eyes as these areas can get quite nastily infected if not cleaned and maintained regularly. Also, nails can grow around and back into the pad (especially dew claws) so definitely keep an eye on this too. Many Dapper Dog clients would have missed two to three appointments by the time we reopen. All those who had pre-booked for the year, your appointments remain as booked when we re-open. For those on the waiting list, I will contact you individually once we have a clear plan for re-opening. Stay safe and I miss you all very much Take care of yourselves.
