24.01.2022 Week 7: Still growing!
23.01.2022 Managed to sneak a shot of a Sika calf this morning.
23.01.2022 We invited the perennially hungry and completely impartial Sammy the Samba to randomly select the competition winner. Well done Damien McLean; we will be in touch about how you can select your print from Phillip Island Images. Thanks to all who entered and a happy new year!
22.01.2022 Yarded our Elk bull this week for a check and a drench. At 2 years old he still has plenty of growing to do.

20.01.2022 Our Elk bull (that’s not even 3 years old) and an average sized human standing in front of the same door, there’s a reason the bulls name is Big Moe...
20.01.2022 Got the hay done, and checking the stock.
19.01.2022 Last year we showed you the growth of Fallow deer antlers, this year we are going to try to bring you a week by week growth of Red deer antlers... Week 1
19.01.2022 Week 12: More action this week, you can really see the 4 days difference in growth. The left antler cast first, and you can see it is more advanced. This should even out at the end of growth.
18.01.2022 To celebrate Christmas we have a give away! (also to celebrate 1000 likes of the page). We have partnered with Phillip Island Images to gift the winner a 90 x 60 print of one of our deer. You know the drill - like and share and we will announce the winner between Christmas and New Year. Good Luck!

15.01.2022 Merry Christmas from the Deer Farm.
14.01.2022 Week 11: Nice movement this week, the trez stretching out and a bit more definition on the royals.
13.01.2022 A bit of breakfast, and a visit from Sammie...
13.01.2022 Week 13: G31 is still growing, the royal becoming obvious now and everything stretching out.
13.01.2022 Baby hoggie love...
13.01.2022 Week 2... bigger, but no brow definition yet. Maybe next week?

12.01.2022 We have a few other creatures roaming around here at the deer farm... in late June early July the Emus start nesting, the male will incubate the eggs for about 60 days.

08.01.2022 Week 15: His tops are still reaching for the sky, and with what looks like still a few weeks growing to do.

07.01.2022 Our first Hog deer calf of 2021, a young hind. Tagged, checked and released.
07.01.2022 Week 8: We have a trez! With plenty of feed under foot, theres plenty of growing to be done.
06.01.2022 Week 17: This will be the last weekly update from G31... with his growth basically stopped, well touch base with him again when he sheds his velvet. Thanks for following along, and we hope this gave an insight into red deer antler growth.
06.01.2022 Week 3: Good week of growth, brow and bay tines starting to show.
06.01.2022 Week 4: Brows and Bays well defined, and the scar tissue from casting is almost gone.
06.01.2022 Week 16: With the solstice behind us and the days beginning to shorten, the antlers will stop growing and will start to harden off under the velvet. This is caused by the stags testosterone levels, which are now rising, also brought on by the shortening of the days. The velvet will stay on for just over a month and I expect him to rub his Velvet in early Feb.
05.01.2022 Minnie has her first calf
04.01.2022 Injury to antlers while in velvet, no matter how horrific rarely if ever affects future antler formation!! Also the statement ' bends like rubber when wet ' please explain.
