24.01.2022 Update on The Den and COVID-19 Firstly we would like to thank you all for the exceptional support you’ve shown us as we navigate this unfamiliar situation . We have a community that is so supportive of us and each other and this current health climate has bought out the best in this incredible community. To continue to comply with advice from the Australian Government Chief Medical Officer on how best to maintain the safest possible training environment we have made a... few changes: * Session sizes will be reduced. * Where possible we will be including outdoor stations to increase the distance between people in the gym. * There will be no boxing sessions until further notice. We want you to know that should we be faced with closing we are preparing for online training delivery. More information will be provided on this if it occurs. In the meantime continue to use your towels (having two trowels is ideal one for you one for wiping equipment). Sanitise your hands on arrival and throughout the session. Please do not come to The Den if you’re unwell. We will continue to clean and disinfect equipment as we have been. We appreciate the value that a healthy body and a healthy mind have in this health pandemic. Whilst you are well it is safe to continue to train and attend the gym. 23.01.2022 Another very exciting addition to the timetable is BLAST! This weight training program focuses on training the full body each session and will be on the timetable Tuesday and Thursday mornings. It will allow for the optimal training split on its own or when used in conjunction with our Raw or MC Burn sessions. ... Debut week, next week, will consist of three drop sets of 10, 8, 6 reps. 21.01.2022 Hi guys. sorry to be touching base again in relation to the closure of The Den. It’s a confusing time and like you one we haven’t had to navigate through before. We have recently found out that your accounts have been appropriated by Debit Success, the company that holds your direct debit contracts. As a result and in line with Yesterday’s ACC corona virus regulation amendments EVERYONES memberships will be put on hold when a payment falls due. Many of you have electe...d to continue to pay your membership fees. Of which we are so appreciative. However for this to occur we need written / emailed consent to present to Debit Success. If those of you who elected to continue membership payments still wish to do so please email us. Sorry for the inconvenience guys. 19.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we are temporarily closing the doors of The Den in line with the ACT Chief Minster Andrew Bars announcement. We want to thank you all for your support over the past few weeks. We knew this day would come but the speed at which it has arrived has surprised us. 19.01.2022 Hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday - what a spectacular day! It’s been great to see some of you using the back room for your own training. Another reminder It’s there for you to use in your own time all day Monday and Friday and outside of sessions Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (see timetable). Some tips for those still a bit apprehensive about training solo!! ... There is a new AMRAP on the board to do your own training at your own pace (complete with Micks easy to follow guidelines). Anyone who wants more info on AMRAPS and how they work send us a message. Weights training.... obviously easy to do out the back but you can also split up the Blast session that’s currently on the board if you’d like to train just upper or just lower body. There is a new quick EXTRAS component to add to the end of any session whether youve trained in the main room or out the back. It’s broken up into upper, lower and ABs... or you might like to do all three! Anyone tempted to take a dip in the acid bath again you’ll find a bike erg, a ski erg and a rower ready for the challenge... 500m Ski 500m Row and 1000m Bike... make sure you record your times! 16.01.2022 Coronavirus shutdown isn’t going to stop our Meet The Pack! Enjoy meeting Anthony! Anthony is a regular at midday sessions, arrives at precisely 1138am each day smiling and raring to go! A bit about Anthony - Has worked in HR for the last 5 years. He is a tragic Canberra Raiders supporter and volunteers at each of the home games throughout the season (not sure about this season though). ... How long have you been coming to The Den? Just under 4 years. What started as an 8 week challenge has continued much longer than that. I love the Den and the trainers and the variety of the classes. Your favourite thing to do outside training at The Den? Watching the Canberra Raiders play, either at the game or at home (my family love how animated I can get), love being with my family, whether that be at home being lazy or going out and doing something. Favourite Den moment? No one particular moment but in the early days building up my fitness so I could attend 5 classes in a week. This is still my goal that i try and achieve. Training with the 12pm lunch crew. We train hard but have fun at the same time. Something you aspire to achieve training wise? Master the wind bike/bike erg. These are my weakness. If you don’t have a towel you won’t be able to train. ... Wipe all equipment with disinfectant spray and paper towels before changing stations Hand sanitise before and after each station and upon entering the gym Maintain social distances as much as possible when changing stations MC- 1 person only per station 20/10- 2 people only per station AT THE END OF THE SESSION Wipe down the equipment you use for your last station. Please exit through the back door and up the fire stairs Once the session is finished please leave the gym in a timely fashion.

14.01.2022 And that’s the end of summer holidays! We’re all back to work, kids are back at school and routine is once again part of our lives. One common theme we are hearing is how tough it is getting back into a training routine, especially after a significant amount of time off. We completely agree, it’s so tough! ... Unfortunately guys, there is no magic potion to kick start you back to the gym, stop waiting for the lightening bolt to ignite the motivation... you just need to SHOW UP and keep showing up, eventually it will stop feeling so hard and you’ll start to feel the great benefits of training. Make training part of your day, like brushing your teeth, plan to train at a time you’ll have the least amount of excuses, meet someone at the gym to help you stay accountable, do it for your physical health and your mental health! We’re excited to be back to our full training timetable this week. The Blast kicks off tomorrow, Core and Flex and Yoga are back, new Raw strength program starts Wednesday. Just under two years, its so addictive and the trainers are top notch ... Your favourite thing to do outside training at The Den? I love anything outdoors! Whether that's hiking up a mountain, swimming in the ocean or drinking a glass of red at a winery - its all about balance after all! Favourite Den moment? Anytime I get the standard 'Mick slap on the back' and hearing 'well done, Zo'. He's a hard man to please - so you know you've nailed it when you get that kind of affection. We’re so impressed with how so many of you have put training back into your daily routines and haven’t wavered once. It’s been impressive to watch your fitness and strength return.
