19.01.2022 With the increasing numbers of cases in NSW and the implement of new restrictions, we would like to remind our patients attending our clinic this week that we are still operating on Level 1. What does that mean to our patients? All patients will be asked these screening questions before attending our clinic:... Are you experiencing respiratory symptoms (i.e. sore throat, cough) or a fever 37.5C? Have you or anyone in your household been to the Northern beaches in the last 7 days? Have you or anyone in your household been in contact with a probable, suspected, or confirmed case of COVID-19? Have you been in contact with any person with undiagnosed viral respiratory illness? Are you or anyone in your household pending COVID test results? If you answered YES to any of the above questions unfortunately we won’t be able to see you. With physical distancing still in place, the number of patients able to be in the waiting rooms is reduced which will limit the number of patients we can treat at a given time. You may be asked to wait in your car, or outside while we are still attending to the patient before you. Please avoid bringing children or any other companion (unless required) to the practice that don’t have an appointment on the day. For parents bringing children, only attend with the child that has the appointment. No siblings please. You will be required to wear a mask. If you breathe through your mouth your jaw and tongue will fall back blocking your airway when you are in a deep sleep cycle at night Most mouth br...eathers also snore in their sleep To keep you alive, your brain will need to command your tongue to move out of the way to open up your airway and the only way to do this is ordering your jaw to move forward and that’s when you clench/grind After a night of a few cycles of breathing through your mouth and clenching, you might find yourself in the morning exhausted and with a lot of tension/pain. Patients usually seek our advise due to a lot of pain in the jaw, head and neck. I’m 44 years old and I have a blended family with 5 kids I’m originally from Venezuela I’m the daughter of an Obstetrician and a Mechanical Engineer. I think I chose Dentistry as a combination of both professions: I learned to use drills and tools with my dad and I learned the ...compassion and empathy necessary to treat patients from my mum I moved to Australia in 2001 after finishing 6 years of Dentistry in Venezuela I undertook the Australian Dental Council accreditation program for overseas trained dentists and became registered to practice Dentistry in Australia in 2004 My first job as a General Dentist was in Maroubra where I worked for 5 years before taking a short break to have my first 2 kids.
