22.01.2022 For those of you not on our mailing list ... An open letter from Phill: It has been a huge year here at Scribblevision and the past six months have been extreme...ly exciting for us. I would first like to thank you for your business during the 12+ years we have been servicing Gippsland as leaders in Website and Brand Asset development. Personally, I have learned a huge amount from you as friends and customers and look forward to the coming years learning even more about our industry and exciting ways we can help to deliver your message online. We have been given an amazing opportunity to service clients not only in Gippsland but all around the world, and with this, we have decided to physically expand our business. From January 2019 as well as servicing Gippsland in the same way we always have, we will have a new location on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The majority of our meetings will be conducted online, and as per normal we will be able to facilitate your preferred method of communication. During 2018 a lot of our meetings have been conducted this way so for the most part of our engagement nothing will change. The location of the studio will have no effect on the service we provide to our local customers and business will continue as normal with Scribblevision maintaining a strong presence in Gippsland. We will be working from both locations so if a face to face meeting is required, this can be arranged. I am extremely excited as a local business owner to be given this opportunity to expand while continuing to provide our services to our Gippsland customers. For those of you with questions related to your websites and data location. Nothing here is changing. All your assets will remain in the same safe locations. Business will continue as normal. 17.01.2022 WordPress Customers please read on ... Don't press the auto-update button blindly without further testing. As you may be aware, WordPress finally released the a...nticipated version 5 update. After 3 date push delays it finally arrived on the 6th December. The major change is the introduction of the Gutenberg editor. This is a block editor to enhance page layout capabilities. It may have some issues playing nice with other page builders you may already be using. More about the new editor here: https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ We have completed testing on some development sites and will be rolling out an upgrade plan. As this is a major core update we will be in contact with you towards the end of January to assess your upgrade plan. As your site was custom built by us we will need to do further testing before your upgrade. These upgrades are outside of our normal patch and security update cycles and will need to be individually assessed. It is important that we upgrade your site for a number of reasons, the main being the security of your website. Our updated plan is to start rolling out updates towards the end of January 2019 and we anticipate completion by early March. In the meantime, your site will be maintained and protected under your current plan as usual. Thank you for your understanding and we will be in touch in the new year.
