24.01.2022 Being a new Mum, with a business, in a pandemic has been one ginormous ride. While the narrative is still being written, a little over two months ago I got to stop and reflect on the business and the juggle, with Sarah from MamaMag. I am happy to report that the learning curve, both in business and Mum life has not flattened since we chatted, that we're still making it up as we go along and just doing our "level best" in the pandemic too. ... It's not the year we had planned, I know it's not the year anyone had planned. But Mum's, we will be stronger, more resilient and I'm hoping, more appreciative off all the things we're able to do with our little bubs when this passes. If you're interested in my story and the story of this business, have a read. And regardless, hang in there mamas, we go this

22.01.2022 Most wrapping paper can't be recycled. A quick rule of thumb for wrapping paper: if it's shiny or glossy - don't put it in your recycling bin. It will likely contaminate the whole lot. Better yet, do away with the wrapping paper altogether this year. Instead, gift your loved ones a Bundle of Joy; already packaged for you in a beautiful, recyclable box, hand-designed by the talented Gemma Leslie.... Kick back and let us do the hard work for you this Christmas. No more paper cuts from last minute present-wrapping. No more unnecessary waste. See more

22.01.2022 Psssst. If you've been paying as much attention to our website as these three, you might notice we've JUST slipped something VERY exciting onto our product page. It's been a very long road to get this to you guys, a delicate process of production and quality iterations, one might say. ... We're proud as punch, and can't wait till our new product lands in your hot little hands. More to come. Image: @gotzonraw

22.01.2022 In the face of adversity, we have a choice. We can be bitter, or we can be better.". Caryn Sullivan We know that this has been such a tough year on everyone. This is especially true if you're a Melbournian, and or have been directly impacted by the virus. ... We understand that panic and fear may be making you feel like you should just be grateful for whatever scraps you can get. But there are some wonderful things emerging too. We are seeing working from home setups starting to open up a new format of flexible teams, which will be great for work/lift structures in years to come. We are seeing business like ours, in the sustainable space and online popping up everywhere. People are taking this opportunity of changed purchase behaviour, and using it to create better products. We think this is so great. And we're seeing community support like we've never known it. Positivity posters in the park, online dress-ups and a real sense of living and engaging in your local life (a 5km radius will do that to you). These pockets of positive grown and passages of change - see if you can find them, be part of them, and focus on them. Because as a wise woman (@startupcreative) once told us (2 days ago) what you focus on, grows. See more

19.01.2022 When we say that Dirt is made of ‘good stuff’ we mean that quite literally, and take it very seriously. Did you know that cleaning product suppliers in Australia aren’t obligated to share their ingredients with their customers? Transparency is a big ticket item for us, if you hadn’t already noticed.... Dirt is made up of the most pure and powerful ingredients. We don’t use phosphates or nasty parabens - in fact our detergent is 100% biodegradable which means that grey water from washing can run directly into your garden. See more

18.01.2022 Cutting plastic from the ocean is just one part of a very important picture that we need to paint if we’re going to save our seas. If you’re into it, read on.

18.01.2022 CODE: BOTTLEPLEASE You're probably familiar with our new glass bottle by now. It's the next step forward on our path to finding the most sustainable packaging solution of all time. They're that kind of quality that you’ll want to hold onto for a lifetime (if we do say so ourselves). ... They're made from sand which is natural, and more durable than alternative materials for detergent storage. The bottles are see-through - so no more flowing over the top when you're refilling! The glass bottle is protected by two silicone sleeves to help prevent breakage - which are 100% non-toxic, BPA, BPS and PVC free. We moved to glass from Aluminium. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and a great sustainable material. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always last forever. We learnt this as our very first bottles turned about two and a half. A couple of them, particularly those that had been sitting in extreme heat, or those that had been dropped or damaged, were subject to degradation - impacting the quality of your clean. Of course, this isn't the case for the majority of the bottles out there. If you Aluminium bottles are still going strong (as ours are) then keep with them! We know how easy they are to fall in love with. However, if you have an Aluminium dispenser bottle, and would like to switch it over - even just because you think our new bottles are very pretty (you're not alone) we'd like to offer you a FREE DISPENSER BOTTLE with your next order*. Just enter the code BOTTLEPLEASE on the final checkout page (as in the one where we ask for your address). If you're a subscriber, login to your account and add the code in the secret code area below your subscription. The code is only valid once per customer, and you MUST be an existing customer (using the same email address as you originally did), to purchase. The code is valid for 12 months, so if you want to use it, you can do it next time you run out of detergent! Happy cleaning everyone.

16.01.2022 We’re so happy to (finally) introduce our delicate detergent. It ticks all the same boxes as the regular detergent you already love + it smells like a wildflower scented fresh stream. It’s called ‘Wild water’ and it’s truly delightful (thank you again scent-sational customers for lending us your nose). We know you’ve been asking for this for a while and we’ve been working hard to deliver. ... Developing a product that meets all our sustainability goals and cleans the competition out of the water was a challenge. This is our third iteration of the product (hence the delay)m, and we’ve done it! Just like our regular washing detergent, you’ll experience. The same great pump dispenser to make sure you never use more than you need A similar gorgeous, grown up, reusable dispenser bottle The same high performance you’ve come to expect The same low cost per wash The same single purchase or subscription options The difference; it's a perfect match for your wools, silks and other precious fabrics. It'll make them feel soft, loved, and clean. We hope you adore it as much as we do. See more

12.01.2022 We were so excited about this article that we actually forgot to share it with ya'll! Fingers crossed it won't be too long until recycling in this country isn't mostly a fanciful myth. Baby steps Australia.

12.01.2022 If you can, pretty pretty please choose reusable

11.01.2022 Did you know that two Titanic loads of single-use plastics are dumped into Australia’s ocean every year? We don’t want to be downers, but this is the harsh truth. Statistics like this are one of the main reasons we were inspired to launch Dirt back in 2016.... If you need an upper, just know that just by swapping to Dirt detergent, you’re eliminating 90% of plastic out of the liquid laundry cycle. Image by @forlane6studio

08.01.2022 Hands up if you wash your sheets the 'recommended' every week? Or every fortnight? We'll got first. Er - no, not once per week. And when we say 'we', we're talking all five of us in the office here... we're at once a fortnight on average. We heard that 35% of people have the energy to wash their sheets each and every week, so hats off if that's you! We are impressed and inspired. ... There really is nothing better than jumping into fresh sheets (not to mention its actually good for your skin and general cleanliness), but we're curious, is it just us that feels once a week is, well, work? 06.01.2022 Honestly, seems like this is how it used to be done

06.01.2022 We'll tell you who are working their butts off at the moment? Our Aussie Posties. We know your parcels may be a little held up, that their system is a little choked up at the moment. We know this is frustrating. ... But tell you what else we know?! The @auspost crew on the ground are working day-in, day-out to get you your parcels. Long days. And they are hectic. So next time you're expecting a delivery (we know you'll know because they'll probably send you 1000 messages ), why not leave a little note of thanks out? Why not include a little Sani? They may not be the front line of heath, but they are the front line of goodies (and therefore happiness), and we know they will appreciate you sparing a thought.

06.01.2022 Delivered straight to your door. Taking the hassle out of doing laundry since 2016.

03.01.2022 Because with us, what goes around, comes around.

03.01.2022 Pilling. The pesky, round little bobbles that make all your best wools, linens and silks look a bit like they belonged to a generation before you. You might be wondering how you managed so much fuzz. And how to get rid of it. Wonder no more.

02.01.2022 We made our delicate detergent, so it should come as no surprise that we love it. But it might come as a surprise to learn we didn't love the first batch we created. It cleaned, but only as well as every other wools and delicates detergent. I still remember the first time I got to try Dirt, I couldn't believe how much I loved it. I was excited... by a laundry detergent! It absolutely smashed stains out of the park, AND had some great stuff in it. ... I wanted that feeling back. So, we went back to our chemist. We shared our concerns and made some further eye-rolling demands. Boy did he deliver. Round two, this formula is just so good. It cleans better than any other woolwash we've ever know. For some reason, your clothes feel soft, and have a subtle aroma of 'expensive clean'. Not blast yo' face off, but a bit stronger than our current formulation. And it holds all the same eco-credientials that you know and love. Can't wait for you guys to try it!

01.01.2022 We’re much more cost effective than many of our competitor friends. How, you might ask? We are 8 x more concentrated than most standard detergents. That means less water and less packaging getting shipped around the country. Which means less cost (carbon and dollars), and more value for you lot.

01.01.2022 Soft on your silkies, strong on your stainies. Delicate starter pack.

01.01.2022 We estimate that if even 0.5% of Australian households switched to Dirt detergent, we would prevent 50 tonnes of plastic from being manufactured each year. We understand that’s a number that is kind of hard to visualise or wrap your head around. 50 tonnes is about the weight of 550 Kangaroos. For a little perspective, if you had 550 Kangaroos stand on each other's shoulders, they would stand taller than the tallest building in the world. Who would have thought that super small changes like the laundry detergent you choose could have such a big output? Well, we did and we’ve saved you the hassle of thinking about it.
