20.01.2022 As our open day is nearing, we thought we would introduce our beautiful Educators to you all. Meet Tegan! Tegan is our Lead Educator in the Gumnut Studio and has over 14 years’ experience in the industry. Tegans Philosophy:... "When working with young children, ensuring I have strong and secure relationships with each child is of upmost importance. This is something that continuously guides my practice and something I aim to achieve by actively taking the time to get to know each child and their families through effective communication and quality interactions. By learning their routines, personalities, likes and dislikes, about their families, their culture, backgrounds and any other information, I am then able to provide the highest quality care. I believe in the importance of providing the children with the time and space needed to engage in meaningful play and help create an environment that promotes and encourages creativity, curiosity, happiness and joy while ensuring the children feel safe and secure. I strongly believe in each child’s right to expect and receive dignity and respect, and this is something I am extremely passionate about. While in my care, young children will be treated with kindness, shown respect during all interactions and routines throughout the day and treated with the highest quality of care. I always endeavour to work actively with all families and parents by always ensuring open and honest communication. It is so important to me that the families feel just as comfortable leaving their child in my care as the child does being in my care. I endeavour to remain approachable and accessible to all families and am committed to continuously building and maintaining this relationship. I believe strongly in the importance of recognising each child as an individual and acknowledging them as the competent, capable, and incredible little people that they are. With regards to being an Educator apart of a team, I endeavour to be dedicated and committed to working in a professional and effective manner while recognising and upholding our combined goal and vision for the service. 19.01.2022 Meet Julie! Julie is the Lead Educator in the Willie Wagtail Studio and has over 20+ years experience in the industry! Julie's Philosophy: "Hello! My name is Julie, and I am one of the Early Childhood Teachers here at The Discovery Garden.... I have been involved in early childhood settings for nearly 20 years, from Childcare to preschool, out of hours school care and family day care. I hold my Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching. I am also a mother of four children. I believe that the first five years of a child’s life is where the most learning and development occurs and that as educators, we are to work alongside families to collaboratively provide the best opportunities and support for children to thrive and feel a strong sense of belonging and connectivity, not only with one another but also within the environment. I am a strong believer in the importance of relationships. Building trusting relationships between children, educators, and families are imperative in providing the best outcomes for the children, as they feel comfortable, secure, and safe within the environment. Building relationships also helps myself to accommodate and support each child’s individual needs, so that I can provide an optimal learning environment for each child’s strengths. My personal interests are in art as I find it is a great outlet for self-expression. I love being outside in the environment and connecting with my surroundings. I can’t wait to meet you all!"
