16.01.2022 Validate your children’s feelings. Kids are often torn between wanting to spend time with both parents. You may find your kids expressing a variety of emotions at this of year. If your children are feeling happy to spend time with the other parent - share in that excitement; if they’re sad or expressing negative emotions, allow them the time to feel what they are feeling, let them know that it’s okay to feel this way and you are there for them. Last but not least don’t make them feel guilty about their time away from you.
07.01.2022 Wise words as always from @susanguthrieesq Children remember experiences, not a date on a calendar. Whether you celebrate on the actual holiday, or get together before or after due to your parenting plan, it is the experiences that you create that your children will remember. For example, they will likely not remember that you made a pumpkin pie on Saturday, not Thursday, but they will member the fun of rolling a crust out for the first time, and tasting a pie that they ...helped make. * * * #childcentreddivorce #childfocused #divorceddads #divorcedmums #highconflictdivorce #positivedivorce #separationspecialist #thedivorcehub #positivecoparenting #befayr #coparentingthroughtheholidays #coparenting
