07.01.2022 Beautiful Naro came in for a clip this morning but after a chat we decided on a groom out - a whole other dog came out!! It’s really important to note that dou...ble coats such as pomeranians, chihuahuas, papillons, huskies, golden retrievers and border collies are NOT supposed to be clipped/shaved! It does not make the dog cooler, instead it actually inhibits their ability to regulate their body temperature as they can’t trap a layer of cool air close to their body. The need a long top coat with a clear undercoat - think like wearing a light kaftan! It also does nothing to control shedding as when we clip dogs it does NOT remove the dead shedding hair, it simply makes it shorter. Not to mention, it leaves dogs more at risk of sunburn and skin cancers! Not cool!
