07.01.2022 Did you know that cosmetic injections can also be used to treat migraine and tension-type headache? A recent Cochrane review (Herd et al. 2018) concluded that injections of botulinum toxin can help to reduce chronic headache by 2 headache free days per month in patients with migraine. Another systematic review by Wieckiewics et al. 2017 found that injections were found to have a significant improvement on headache. These injections help to relieve tension with the frontalis, ...temporalis and trapezius muscles. The procedure takes between 15-20 minutes and it’s effects are seen within 2-3 days. These results last for 4-5 months.
