23.01.2022 A second East Coat accident reported, this time at Triabuuna. Tasman highway blocked. Police are currently heading to a crash involving a caravan on the Tasman Highway at Triabunna.... Injuries unknown at this stage. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. Earlier Police and emergency services are responding to a single motorbike crash on the Tasman Highway at Buckland. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been deployed.
23.01.2022 EXCLUSIVE Edit: this exclusive story has now been confirmed by festival organisers. Falls Festival Marion Bay is understood to have been cancelled this year.... COVID-19 restrictions have hit the iconic music festival. Earlier this year organisers said it would be an all-Australian line-up, but logistics are understood to have been insurmountable. 22.01.2022 Breaking: Controversial Glamorgan Spring Bay Mayor Debbie Wisby has quit council. As a result a by-election will be held. Bizarrely, Ms Wisby has refused to explain to East Coast residents her reasons. When the East Coast View Newspaper asked for a copy of her media release explaining the reasons behind her decision her response was ''No". The ECV has over recent months highlighted allegations against Ms Wisby including bullying, conflict of interest and negative independent reports highlighting numerous Council short-comings. Read more in next month's edition.

19.01.2022 Glamorgan Spring Bay has a new General Manager. Greg Ingham will start in the role on September 14. Acting Mayor Jenny Woods said Mr Ingham had 20 years’ experience in local government in both Australia and New Zealand. He was previously the General Manager for the Walgett Shire Council and Castlereagh Macquarie County Council in northern NSW, and Manager Infrastructure at the West Tamar Council.

15.01.2022 Three men have been rescued by police after their boat flipped on Friday afternoon at Slaughterhouse Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula. Police Vessel Cape Wickham responded to an EPIRB activation at 4.25pm. The men aged 58, 33 and 30 were rescued from the upturned 7.45 catamaran.... One male was treated by ambulance at Coles Bay for mild hypothermia. The vessel was equipped with the required safety equipment and the three males were well prepared. Senior Sergeant Bill Grierson of Marine and Rescue Services said, "This is a reminder for all vessel users to check their safety equipment and to ensure that it is readily at hand".

09.01.2022 Police and emergency services remain on the scene at the Sand River conservation area in Buckland after a youth fell approximately 10m down a cliff. The youth is believed to have received critical injuries in the incident. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is attending to assist in transporting the youth to the Royal Hobart Hospital. Police units from Sorell and Orford are attending the scene. More information will be provided when available.
