25.01.2022 So what is this Nature Immersion Challenge all about Nature Immersion is a practice that evokes deep connection, awareness and understanding about the benefits of establishing a reciprocal relationship with nature It involves immersing ones self in nature a little more than you would on your average nature experience. Cultivating awareness of nature will lead you back to a simpler and more organic way of relating to life that reveals new and exciting layers of your personal...ity It is my job as your guide throughout the 52 week Nature Immersion Challenge to get you to slow down as you walk along the earth, immersing yourself into nature's beauty, calming your mind and rejuvenating your spirit If you missed last night prompt it is too encourage you to look for the small things amongst nature, things that have the potential to fill your heart space just as much as the big wins in life Because as Winnie the Pooh once said, 'Sometimes the smallest things take up the biggest room in your heart'

17.01.2022 An immersive and rather beautiful way to end week 2 of our 52 week Nature Immersion challenge I just got home from an amazing 2 hr Forest Therapy walk led virtually by one of my ANFT trainers. My biggest insight was that as a guide I nearly don't get enough time to fully immerse myself in Forest Therapy Invitations because I am always guiding or researching, so have made a pact with myself to join a virtual experience at least once a week, an experience that allows me to com...pletely connect and reap the benefits of Forest Therapy. I have to do it virtually because there are no other guides where I am. I can actually follow my own creative invitations but having someone else lead definitely adds to the depth to the overall experience Here is a few pics from my walk If you struggled to connect with the outdoors in anyway, please do feel free to reach out, either in the comments or flick me a PM and we can have a chat Now, your prompt for week 3 is an invitation called 'sit spot' . Sit spot is a core practice in forest therapy and many other nature connection practices. Here are the tips to follow Select a sit spot that is close by and comfortable. Your front porch or a spot in your back yard will do just fine. Make sure it is safe. The more biodiverse the better Allow 20mins or more if possible The act of sitting is enough. I encourage you to lean in to any edges you may have about needing it to be anything more than Keep a journal. Some people do this while at the sit spot; others prefer to do it after, or in the last 5 minutes or so of the sit, so they are not distracted from noticing what is happening nearby. The focus of sit spot for this week is nature observations Engage your senses and enjoy all that nature rewards you with Explore Parks WA Western Australia Great Southern Treasures The Amazing South Coast Trails WA Shinrin-Yoku.org

09.01.2022 Our wholeness is relational. It is not our own isolated project. It is in our relationships with other entities, be it person, community, place, bioregion, animal or ancestor I love this insight, taken from the text of my Forest Therapy Guide Training because whilst I have been leading Forest bathing walks for a little over 6 years now, I realised that I still have so much to learn. I am feeling absolutely privileged to be up-levelling in this space. As someone who has perso...nally experienced this journey back to self through building a reciprocal relationship with nature it fills my heart with so much joy to be able to guide and hold space for others to do the same on a much deeper level The relationships that are tended on a Forest Therapy walk, be it relationship to self, others, the More-Than-Human World, or the beyond, become the sources of healing. In this way, Forest Therapy addresses a fundamental problem of modern life: alienation. As people move to cities and become more connected though digital means, somehow we are feeling increasingly lonely and isolated from the world. Forest Therapy addresses this problem by cultivating connection and relatedness. This process could even be called the restoration of the human soul. 06.01.2022 Week 1 of our 52 week Nature Immersion challenge is done How did you go, did you manage to spend 2 hrs soaking up the beauty of nature The warm weather we had here in WA definitely encouraged many to head to the beach For some however it did keep them indoors in the cool which meant their gardens were their immersive time....and that is perfectly fine. Remind me to show you the Bushtucker Garden I created over Christmas... Thanks to everyone who shared their adventures and insights. I have been having tech issues all week so know I missed some but here is just a few pics from Week 1 If you struggled to connect with the outdoors in anyway, please do feel free to reach out, either in the comments or flick me a PM and we can have a chat Now, your prompt for week 2.
