25.01.2022 Presenting... The Tiny Office A project my husband and I have been working on over the last few weeks - and excited to finally share this with you all. Small in nature, big in potential.... The Tiny Office is a private working space secluded from the domestic chaos, yet close enough to pop dinner in the oven. The purpose built portable space is light, airy and a blank canvas ready to make it your own. With power and lighting it has everything you need to take your office out of the home and into your backyard. Built with love and care we are so excited to share it with you all. We are now taking enquiries and orders. Click the link at https://www.connect2electrical.com.au/tiny-office to read more and here our story.

25.01.2022 Investing in brand design or website design first? Getting your product or service straight out there with a website can seem like the first ideal step. However you may come to a few hurdles that can result in added work and costs. 1. you may find it difficult to complete the design, without appropriate visuals or no foundation design to work from. ... 2. you may complete your website, go onto to design your brand, and then realise your brand and website are in-consistent and don't reflect your business well. 3. you may design your website and then when you do decide to invest in brand design, your website is far from what you would like it to be and you end up doing a new website as well. So there's just a few pointers from me - I'll let you decide on that one See more

24.01.2022 Sue-Ellen from Seventy Event Management and I had our first conversation just over a year ago. We were due to create a new website for her at the beginning of 2020, but the universe had other ideas. Sue-Ellen was affected by the gippsland fires at the beginning of the year and her event business was forced to come to a hault with Covid-19. Normally she would have been flat out however she used this time to focus on her business and brand. The brief started out w...ith a website design but we both soon realised we needed to design a brand first, one that reflects what Sventy Event Management and Communications is today. So at the middle of 2020 we set about diving deep into her business (one of the best things I love about my job). Why are you in business, what is your business about, your values, mission and vision are some of the questions I ask. And so we set about developing her a fresh new brand. We designed a series of logos and brand marks, kept the original Seventy Events colour and pattern. We created some branding guidelines around brand photography, updated her social media visuals, business stationery and created a brand new website. Of which she launched this week!! www.seventyevents.com.au It’s like all the work that’s happened over so many years is in a little nut shell for people to see. It is absolutely stunning and exactly what I was hoping for I could not be happier with the process and the end result for this business. Sue-Ellen I admire your determination, commitment and focus you shown have shown during a challenging year. You were a pleasure to work with and thank you for trusting me with your business. If you are in the Gippsland area and looking for a dedicated, inspiring and hard working event manager, I’d highly recommend Seventy Event Management and Communications - for corporate, community and private events. 24.01.2022 Part 2/ Brand Showcase Swipe left to see how we implemented the State of You brand across an e-book, Instagram profile, website, business stationery and brand guidelines. A start up ready and set to go!! Laying the right foundations from the start! Ready to attract her ideal client and position herself right within the market. ... There are so many platforms your brand needs to be displayed across, in order to consistently provide a brand experience. This is why we design a series of unique logos, sub-marks and graphics that can be displayed across a variety of platforms. Your brand is recognised by a feeling achieved through carefully considered colours, photography, graphics and copy! Could you imagine how much differently this would look if we slapped one logo across everything? If you wanna chat about how I can help you get in touch email or send me a DM x @ Mornington, Victoria See more

22.01.2022 I've been eager to share... A recently completed brand design for a speech pathologist on the Sunshine Coast, dedicated to helping children and teens live their best life. A business connected to the community, it was important to create a brand that reflected the coastal lifestyle that the clinic was situated in. But also reflect the high quality of care and service that the clinic provides.... Warm coastal hues were chosen over cool tones, to represent the inviting and approachable clinic. With a collaborative process I worked with the client to create a modern classic logo using a serif typeface. Adding a touch of a coastal influence with a delicate wave icon. We added happiness to the brand by creating a brand mark which features the clinics tagline in a wave like symbol. And imagery of children and teens living their best life on the beach. At the beginning of a project I never know where it's going to lead too, so it is always an honour to work with a client and collaboratively work together to bring their brand to life! See more

21.01.2022 A little piece I designed today. Organic and intuitive is how I would describe my natural style. Lots of fluid curved lines, freehand, texture and pops of colour.... I always design with intention but the process is always intuitive, I know exactly when something great is emerging. Sometimes the process is quick and other times it's a longer process. I guess that's the exciting thing about creativity, it's a challenging but satisfying journey. Wanna take the journey with your brand? I'd love to see what we can create together! I have two brand design spots open for July start dates. Spring into Spring with a fresh new look! See more

21.01.2022 Why you need brand guidelines Brand guidelines is the glue that keeps your brand together and consistent. It's your little (or big in most cases) brand handbook! It's surprising how many businesses pay for a beautiful new brand but then struggle to maintain the consistency, and over a period of time the brand becomes off track or disappears altogether.... My brand guidelines outline... - the brand, mission and vision - correct logo usage - breakdown of all brand colours - typography rules - usage for brand elements - brand imagery rules - rules for all supplies templates Plus any other information I think is important and needs to be addressed. Ask your designer if brand guidelines are included in your brand package, because you'd hate to walk away with all this amazing new content but no idea how to use it or maintain it going forward. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Loz x Happy Hump day! See more

21.01.2022 Something to think about... . Does your brand reflect your business values? . Your brand shouldn't reflect just your service, but the values of your business. Whether its change, community, growth, quality, or sustainability, it's important to make this clear within your brand, so you can attract like minded relatable clients. ... . So how do we communicate these values, without words? Easy, here's a few ways... . 1. Colour - there is a lot of study about how a colour can evoke different emotions. 2. Illustrations - cute sub marks or icons can represent values. 3. Imagery - this can be a really big one, with the right photography you can def showcase your values. . Also surprisingly only 13% cited frequent interactions with the brand as a reason for having a relationship - thats surprising and something to take on board! . These recent 2019 stats are from Harvard business review. (cos you know I'm all up with the business news these days ... not really, but just sometimes is helpful). . Happy Friday See more

20.01.2022 Im not sure if its because of the enforced restrictions this year or not... but for some reason I began drawing again After so many years, literally all through my twenties and into my thirties I never put pen to paper and drew just for fun. Which is weird because I think I spent 90% of my childhood drawing.... But with becoming an adult and all that goes with that - and the constraints of the graphic design world - it got pushed further and further down until it was non-existent. However its now come to light again! And Ive realised this is what brings me the most joy (aside from my kids) - joy for me. So with what started with creating art for my girls room turned into a small collection of minimal earthy coloured prints and beach scenes for the home. Ive just sent these little babies off to print. Cant wait to share how they look. Ill be selling these in A3 sizes soon, with the possibility of going larger. So Im wondering if this has happened to you? With the restrictions of Covid have you found joy in something you once loved or found joy in something totally new? Its interesting... I wonder if these things would still have eventuated without the forced restrictions? @ Red Hill, Victoria

20.01.2022 A little snippet of what goes on during the early stages of designing a brand and logo. Note this work is much more in depth and this shows just a small snippet of the actual work involved #myfirstreel

19.01.2022 After a long time coming Im excited to share this recently completed project! This project was one of those dream jobs! The type of project where you click with the client from the start, the process is seamless, the client has complete trust and the designs evolve with collaboration... the end result is a fresh unique brand that stands out from its competitors. Lucy a passionate holistic health coach approached me to bring her new brand to life. The brief was to de...sign a brand that portrayed fun, fresh, reliability, innovation and education. I drew inspiration from the ocean, looking at the similarities between how water and our state are both malleable, so it was important to feature fluid lines. The arch is a significant symbol in the design as it represents the notion of becoming into yourself, walking into the new you. Swipe Left to see the complete series of logos and brand marks. Being a committed business owner Lucy knew the importance of having brand consistency across all platforms. So we not only created a beautiful brand but we created a seamless brand experience across her business stationery, website, e-book and social media. There is SO much to present in this brand, so Im going to present the rest of this project over the next few days. Thank you Lucy @lucyvanderriet for being a dream client and having trust in me to design such an integral part of your business. And last but not least I highly recommend the lovely Lucy, to anyone interested or looking for holistic health advice, essential oils, health programs, education and resources @lucyvanderriet. Her website will be live very soon! Ill definitely be testing some of her delicious recipes! See more

19.01.2022 Things may have quietened down.... But this really is the perfect opportunity to work on you, your brand and your business. So that when everything gets back to normal, you will be in a far better and stronger position.... They say the one's who made it through the GFC were the one's who continually showed up and continually marketed. So here are 5 ways you can continue showing up for your customers, whilst elevating your brand and without spending a cent. 1. Launch a weekly/fortnightly or monthly email newsletter. Keep your email subscribers with news on what's happening in the business, share inspiration and provide tips. 2. This is a good opportunity to assess your website and ensure it creates an optimal experience for your target audience, speaks to their concerns and sends the right message. 3. Review and refine your content calendar. 4. Provide value to other small businesses who might be doing it tough also, by sharing them on social media or giving them reviews and comments on their Google Page. 5. Share your knowledge - you would be so surprised with how much knowledge you have and how much that others would love to hear. I think it's tough being a small business at the moment, but if we can be there to help each other out then the load might be a little lighter! I'm going to do all of the above as well so keep me posted on how you go x See more

18.01.2022 Pin it On Pinterest! I recently did a Pinterest masterclass and found it to be a very valuable platform for increasing traffic to your website.... If you have a little more time to work on your business at the moment, I highly recommend setting up a Pinterest business account, whether your a service or product based business. So I'm going to share what I learnt... has over 300 million users all your pinned images will link back to your website place your keywords in your pin titles and descriptions for improved SEO it's not about the number of followers you have, but more about the number of clicks on your pins use it to promote links back to your blog or opt in page schedule pins in advance - (I use Later for this) free access to your Pinterest analytics traffic to e-commerce stores has doubled in the past year And Pinterest has just released a 'Shop' tab in some countries... apparently it will be in Aus soon! So for a free platform I think it's got some really good benefits! Although I'm not a Pinterest expert.. if you have any questions I'd be happy to help See more

16.01.2022 I recently finished reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and Open Wide by Melissa Ambrossini. And theyve both inspired me to allow more time for creativity. An illustrative brand concept for a boutique gift store. Look forward to sharing more creative and spontaneous work. ... Have a great weekend!

16.01.2022 Its crazy how many logos us designers have sitting hidden within our computers - beautiful designs not in use and gone to waste. This logo and signage was recently designed for a speech pathologist on the Qld coast. So although this lovely little logo wasnt the chosen design, I still believe it deserves some time to shine! ... As part of this project we are completing her brand with new exterior and interior signage for her clinic. 16.01.2022 Email marketing... are you a fan or do you find them inbox clutter? "59% of consumers say marketing emails influence their purchase decisions." Personally I don't mind the odd email here and there if you they are offering something of value to me or advertising a good sale! ... So how can you get started if you haven't began email marketing yet? There are many online platforms out there which enable you to create your email list, design your email campaign, schedule the email and track your results. Two of my favourites are Active Campaign (paid) and Mail Chimp (Free and paid subscriptions). Both of these platforms have easy start up tutorials. I'd say Mail Chimp is probably a little easier if you haven't used these platforms before. If you get stuck you can just about ask Google anything! Oh and of course if you need help with setting up a pretty little email template, you know where to find me . . . 15.01.2022 Whilst in lockdown I had the pleasure of illustrating two portraits. The first portrait was of three kids for Fathers Day. And the second was a bit of nostalgia for a friends dad. A portrait of his old band - for Fathers Day too. ... I don’t often get the chance to illustrate but I loved working on both these projects. There is something special about creating pieces that are so sentimental and mean so much to the receiver.
