Rudolf Nureyev’s 1973 film of Don Quixote is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever ballet films and a cinematic achievement in its own right. Directed and choreographed by the Russian superstar, the film was shot in a hangar at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport and featured The Australian Ballet, putting the young company on the international map. ... 09.01.2022 We want to give a big shout out to Lindy Tennant and Nicole Thorn who went above and beyond to ensure Heinze Music Program students were supported during lockdown. The Heinze Music Program gives students the opportunity to learn a musical instrument at school and progress to a band program in later years. Lindy and Nic had to be innovative in their approach to teaching students during remote learning, and both of these wonderful teachers excelled.... 03.01.2022 This week the Goulburn Valley has seen how the actions of one individual can negatively impact a community. HOWEVER, imagine the positive impact that a collecti...ve community can have! Every dollar we spend locally flows on, impacts, supports, restores and strengthens our region and this is also what Food Link aims to achieve. Since the first lockdown we have delivered over 6000 meals. These meals have been purchased from 13 local businesses and then donated to 11 local agencies who deliver them to those most in need. We have raised over $80,000 which has been spent locally, not only supporting businesses but our most vulnerable. Thank you to those who have been inspired to donate due to recent events. 01.01.2022 The Fairley Foundation are long term supporters of The Australian Ballet and fund an education outreach program that brings together performers to work with students from Greater Shepparton Secondary College. With COVID restrictions in place, innovative thinking to deliver education outreach is required, and today students will meet with Swan Lake principal dancers Adam Bull and Amber Scott for Zoom lessons and a Q&A.
