23.01.2022 Today Ive taken the family for an overnighter at Quest South Perth Foreshore. I fell in love with these appartments the very first time I viewed them last year. Quests clientele are heavily made up of corporate clients however, their 2 bed apartment is amazing for families wanting a city break! ... 22.01.2022 How tough can it be taking two kiddies swimming?? ‘Doing stuff together as a family is not just about quality time and having fun together, which is super important to me! It is also about TEAMWORK! ... The thought of taking both Xander and Nico swimming on my own scares the life out of me - I know how feral they are in the bath together!! Sometimes I feel bad because I decide not to take both boys swimming on my own in fear I can't protect both of them in water. 19.01.2022 On February 1st 2012 this happened I attended a job as a in Nottingham I returned to the station with a 3 month of German Shepherd in my arms. The front counter girls cuddled her whilst I used emotional blackmail tactics on my husband to bring home a . (He has never had a dog in his life).... I booked off duty, drove home, named her Shadow and loved her ever since! In 2014 we flew her to Australia to start a new life together as a family - we would have never left her behind! It was downtime to relax and recharge an opportunity to experience something I haven’t done before a chance to enjoy the company of a bunch of incredible ladies... catch up with friends, have an adventure and a laugh When was the last time you did these things? 16.01.2022 6 Years ago today I left for Western ! I had never stepped foot in Australia EVER before I saw the opportunity to transfer from Notts Police to WA Police and I took it!... I didnt bring one jacket over to Perth with me! I thought it would be sunbathing weather in the middle of July! I was ready to hit the ! What happened? It rained for a whole week when I arrived (from memory), and my first purchase was a dressing gown . There is certainly something magical about Australias largest state...... Ancient tall forests of the South West Picture-perfect sandy white beaches So many natural wonders Rich Pindan landscapes of the North Wide open spaces of the outback Thriving Capital City of Perth How have your travel plans changed this year? Are you venturing on a long haul road trip or taking a series of short breaks? This is a pic of my dad, Steve and my eldest nephew Jaden . This is their new hot tub . They live in the UK and due to Covid they made the decision to transform their back yard into a perfect space of relaxation and calm ... as well as a cricket set and mini golf set for the boys . They are literally exploring their own back yard and creating their own adventures as their travel plans had to be postponed. 12.01.2022 That one time I took the kids to the beach ... ... on my own This morning I made a quick last minute decision to pack up the car and take Xander and Nico to Hillarys Boat Harbour. ... When youve got a 2 year old runner and a 9 month old speedy crawler - how hard can it be right? they ate sand - ALOT of sand! they dipped bananas in the sand they spilt mums coffee (the coffee id been waiting for all morning) they pooped - mega pooped at the same time! they fought (like boys do) they explored - in different directions But ... we laughed we played we splashed in the water we made sandcastles they ate more sand! It was bloody exhausting and I think my sweat was sweating!! . However, more crazy memories and family time to add to the collection! Lessons from today: Buy two coffees because one will get knocked over dont go to the beach until theyve both had their morning Take another adult with me!! See more

08.01.2022 Do you agree with the phrase ‘work/life balance’? Do you think a work/life balance exists when you are a small business owner working on and in your business? Do you find yourself working whilst you are supposed to be on holiday?... As a business owner, I completely get it - our responsibilities do not hibernate because we want a holiday with family and / or friends. Especially an extended holiday. However, what you need to remember is your holiday provides... Downtime for your brains A space to unlock your creativity an opportunity to be fully present in the moment with the people who mean the most to you. I personally don’t believe in a perfect work / life balance ... I now work on creating ‘healthy boundaries’ to keep ‘mum guilt’ at bay and get done!

05.01.2022 Conventional Wisdom ... something I have never felt comfortable with. Probably why I this quote! As soon as the travel industry came to a stand still - I looked for opportunities - creative and innovative ones. You see, I never intended The Family Travel Company to be a traditional agency, so I dont operate like one. ... What has this allowed me to do? diversify my income streams as a travel professional create and deliver a personalised service collaborate with other travel professionals to provide a unique set of expertise I also chose to create a travel company from scratch; something I was advised not to do! (For the people who know me well, will know that was the wrong thing to say to me ). I was told I would highly likely fail so I should consider a host agency. What has this allowed me to do? get creative and restructure my company to suit what the community wants and needs stand out from the crowd survive Covid and help build trust and confidence within the travel industry again I have always said I would bring something different and fresh to the travel industry. I intend on fulfilling that promise Great things are coming

05.01.2022 TRAVEL MISTAKES I used to make ONE BIG MISTAKE when travelling and im not referring to any of the below ... Travelling without insurance ... Not booking tickets for tourist attractions Running out of money and maxing the It was the REASON I travelled Before married life and kiddies I spent quite a few years travelling for pure ESCAPISM! Why To escape the harsh realities of the job To escape boy trouble To avoid dealing with things that made me feel uncomfortable basically. What happened? I layed on a beach for 2 weeks and came back with serious holiday blues! I have lost count of the amount of times I have visited ! This is from one of the many Turkey holidays. Great tan / Loads of sleep / Zero disturbances. However, I did nothing else other than get familiar with the All Inclusive hotel, eat buffet food and drink way too many cocktails . What did I CHANGE? I changed how I spent my TIME on holiday - how I EXPERIENCED the location I travelled too. Whether that be tasting new foods , travelling to places off the beaten track as well as the big ticket touristy stuff , or trying new activities which challenged me mentally and physically. Holidays never changed the realities of my job or solved the boy troubles , but I returned with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and motivation . I stopped seeking ESCAPISM and started to look for the EXPERIENCE! When I take on a new client my first question is: 1 What is your reason for going on holiday? (Then I ask a bunch more!! ).

Why? our lifestyles are different... our needs, desires & interests are different our priorities are different Luxury could mean ... the VIEW you wake up to the STAR RATING of your accommodation the TOURS you are planning on doing (not so much the accommodation) Resort FACILITIES little luxuries in your room ... MINI BAR a BIG BATH room SIZE on-site RESTAURANTS on-site SPA The list goes on ... A Travel Professional should ask you what you are looking for in terms of luxury, but if not, make sure you tell them!
