Focused on improving community safety, Officers will be encouraged to show compassion and empathy to people who use drugs, and their families, and connect them to support services. Services like First Step. At First Step, we believe that chronic addiction is generally a long-term, painful adaptation to childhood abuse and neglect, and that timely and eff...ective treatment is a matter of social justice that benefits all of society.
