02.01.2022 Anyone watch ‘That Sugar Film’ on SBS last night? If you missed it here are a couple of key take outs: 1. Stating the obvious but processed sugar is extremely detrimental to your health and it’s hidden in many packaged foods available today - even those marketed as healthy or kids food. 2. Reducing or removing processed sugar from your diet isn’t about cutting out calories and feeling hungry, it’s about replacing bad stuff with good stuff.... 3. It’s not all doom and gloom - the health deteriorations that develop from a high sugar diet ARE reversible. TIP: Try and buy mostly from the outside aisles of the supermarket as that’s where the whole foods are. If you do buy packaged food from the inside aisles make sure you read the ingredients list and avoid ones with a high sugar content (you may be surprised at how difficult this is - good luck!).
