23.01.2022 It is with very heavy hearts after the governments announcement yesterday afternoon recommending all non-essential events of 500+ be cancelled, that we have decided to POST-PONE The Forage on 4 April. We ARE NOT CANCELLING, we are rescheduling and we will announce the new date soon. The thought of not running The Forage is hard to get our heads around but the health and safety of our team, our foodie friends and you guys, is our upmost priority. We know this is going to b...e a very challenging time for business in Canberra (and everywhere) and for a lot of our vendors, event life is their primary income. If you are in the position to support our local foodies in anyway, please do. If we could rewind the clock and start 2020 all over again, we would. 08.01.2022 And that’s a wrap on our very first event post COVID. It’s been over a year since we’ve been able to get together at The Forage and although it was done different, we are so grateful that we were able to bring anything at all to the community this year. . A huge shout out to everyone that bought a ticket and came and supported our local foodies. You guys embraced the change and just got behind us and we can’t thank you enough. And although it was small, how good was the ‘no... lines’ and parking situation . But the biggest thank you goes to our vendors. These guys took a punt on this new format and supported us regardless of the numbers. These guys are used to seeing up to 10k people at The Forage, not 500. But they didn’t even think twice and just got behind us. Our vendors are our back bone and if we don’t have them, we don’t have an event. . And to the @dairy_road team, THANK YOU for everything you did to get this event over the line. It was no small feat. We are so grateful for your beautiful venue and constant support. . It was so nice to also collaborate with @cellardoorcbr and the @suitcaserummages. The Dairy Road precinct was certainly alive with lots of colour, good food, good wine and very chilled vibes. 07.01.2022 I think like the rest of Canberra, we have felt the devastation of the drought and fires deeply. We've also been conflicted with how we can help those that have been directly affected by the devastation. We wanted to make sure that our help was going directly to the people and places that needed it. As you know, we are a locally owned and run event focussing on local businesses. However, as the South Coast is our neighbour, we do have a handful of vendors who come to our eve...nts. On April 4 we have invited some South Coast vendors to come to The Forage where they will form a 'South Coast Friends' area and their takings will be going directly to their business and their town. Our hay bales that we use for seating will also be up 'for sale' to help some local farmers. But more on that later.... We hope you have April 4 in your diaries Canberra. We want this to be big. Help us, help them.
