21.01.2022 Forge Theatre and Arts Hub reminder! https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au//choose-y/episode-2 Episode 2: Choose Your Own Variety with Ali McGregor - tonight at 7.30pm, 28 August 2020, presented by Arts Centre Melbourne in association with Ali McGregor & Working Management. ... Your lockdown plans just got a bit more adventurous. Melbourne cabaret queen Ali McGregor is back to host a hilarious online variety show, with a bit of a twist. In this episode, watch Zoë Coombs Marr’s unique take on a TEDx talk; Gillian Cosgriff sings an ode to her silent crush; Dane Simpson takes us on a tour of his 'House of Pun' in Wagga Wagga; performance artist Holly Durant shares a captivating, ethereal and meditative piece called 'Chandelier' from her garage; and last but not least, musical comedian Sammy J performs some original songs, including a special duet with Ali. Much like the Choose Your Own Adventure books of the ’80s, audiences will have the power to choose which act to watch next and access some hidden content. A top hat icon will appear at various points in the interactive experience, and when clicked on you will be able to view bonus songs, encore performances, stories and random musings. This episode is available to stream on demand for two weeks. So whether you’re wearing trackies or sequins, you’ll love what Ali has in store for you. Here's the link to Eposode 1 if you missed that too: https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au//choose-/episode-1 Have a great day. 17.01.2022 The Forge Theatre and Arts Hub is delighted to share with East Gippsland family audiences 'Bambert's Book of Lost Stories', an exquisite theatrical tale for families streaming on demand, for free, thanks to Arts Centre Melbourne and Barking Gecko Theatre Company. Available until 5th September. Click here: http://ow.ly/X9HC50AZ7rv Recommended for Ages 8+ This is the story of Bambert - an impossibly small man with an enormous love for writing. Tucked away in his quiet attic, hi...s only companions are the characters he has created in his stories. One day, Bambert decides to set his stories free, to send them out into the world on little balloons, in the hope that they will find a home. The stories contain instructions: whoever finds them is to return them to Bambert with a stamp from wherever they landed so he knows where they should be set. But as each day passes, and no stories return, Bambert’s hope begins to fade. Will his stories ever find a home? After watching you can then bring the world of Bambert to life at home with workshops, audio stories and craft activities inspired by the production, see at the bottom of the link. We hope you enjoy! 11.01.2022 Erth Visual & Physical Inc.'s Dinosaur Zoo came to East Gippsland The Forge Theatre and Arts Hub, the earth shook and rattled it included a menagerie of insec...ts and dinosaurs that once roamed free around the world and includied a carnivorous theropod known as the Australovenator, discovered in QLD - the most complete meat-eating skeleton yet found in Australia. We got right up close and personal with an amazing array of prehistoric creatures, from baby dinos to some of the largest carnivores and herbivores that have ever walked the planet. Erth’s incredible work brings dinosaurs to 'life,' they were unmistakably ‘alive,’ and mostly friendly, in this fun, educational and original performance, connecting young audiences to the real science of paleontology. This extraordinarily imaginative work delighted audiences from 3 years and up. Audiences learn how to feed and interact with Erth’s dinosaurs in a once in a lifetime interactive experience. Children watch wide-eyed from a safe distance or some even dared to get right up close to these prehistoric creatures. We also ran a two days of Dino workshops run by local superstars Tiffany Vatcher and Jennifer South, where we put together a large dino skelton jig saw puzzle, pretended we were arachnologists , saw a giant dinosaur nest we even ate some dinosaur cookies. For more information please check out: https://www.erth.com.au #TiffanyVatcher #Jennifersouth
