21.01.2022 Jo is taking some plants to the markets at Mungindi caravan park in the morning, so we will offer a few pullets and baby chicks as well. Not taking many, think I may have grabbed 6 each of buff and light Sussex, 8 brown Leghorn and a handful of gold Campine. Will select the baby chicks to go on the outing in the morning.

11.01.2022 The only tree leaves that I know of that fowls eat are these Black Wattle, or Gundabluey trees. They have even started getting up in them.
09.01.2022 Some of the last hatch for the season, only achieved by keeping a frozen 3 litre bottle of water in the incubator by day for the last few days to keep it from overheating. Mainly brown Leghorn and gold Campine, with a few silver Campine, RIR, light Sussex and buff Sussex. I have even gotten away with sneaking em into the lounge room for their first couple of days under the air con! We will probably be at the Mungindi markets again in a couple of weeks, but orders are best so we know what to take. Pullets are now about 3 months, and these little ones will be available, if asked for.
08.01.2022 I posted this on Facebook last weekend after reading a post from someone on a backyard poultry site who was panicking because one of their hens was sitting in the nest making strange sounds for three days. They wondered if they should take her to the vet, as she was unlikely to be clucky, as they don't have a rooster! Or actually, they didn't think they did, but put up pictures of the rest of their chooks in case one was! Sorry, couldn't help myself!
