25.01.2022 "This bright, energetic production was a delight and left the entire audience beaming as they exited the theatre. It is a shame that it only ran for a single weekend. it deserves to be remounted for a much longer showing. It is the kind of clever, nuanced staging that will fit into any kind of venue, and will easily tour anywhere. Whatever Lynch and Patersons plan for Pirates of Penzance, it is clear that Brisbane is ready to lap up whatever they offer next." Our reviewer Shane Webb couldn't speak more highly of Lynch & Paterson's latest offering - 'The Pirates of Penzance'. See what else he thought about their lavish semi-staged spectacle on his review.

25.01.2022 "Little Miss Sunshine is a show about the actions of a family with nothing to lose, whose love for one another outweighs their extreme dysfunction. While audiences will laugh at the absurdity of the plot, the essence of the show is real and relatable, filled with heartwarming moments that remind us there is no such thing as a normal family. If great theatre evokes many emotions, then a night out at Phoenix Ensembles Little Miss Sunshine is decidedly a night of great theatre." Our reviewer Julianne Clinch had a blast at Phoenix Ensemble's latest production of 'Little Miss Sunshine', the opening show in their 'Just Be' 2020 season. Read the full review here.

Auditions may be today and tomorrow, but the season is in June and is sure to be the best 'flop', Leo and Max can muster!... 24.01.2022 "There are few things more Australian than a BBQ celebrated with friends, family, and maybe a few new additions to the neighbourhood. Barbecue, a side splitting comedy by Daryl Peebles brings the world of the Coopers to life in a no holds barred exploration of what makes a great Australian barbie." See what our reviewer Benjamin Tubb-Hearne thought of the latest Australia day play to hit the Redlands, jointly produced by MATES Theatre Genesis and Redland Museum.

24.01.2022 Were hoping for our happily ever after at @savoyardstheatrebrisbane latest offering at the Star Theatre: Into the Woods.

23.01.2022 The first production as part of Beenleigh Theatre Group’s new initiative ‘Crete Street Fringe’ THAT Production Company have set an extremely high bar for BTG’s new venture. Showcasing how versatile and unrestrictive the Crete Street Theatre can be when you fill it with young, fresh, and talented professionals at the top of their game, ‘Tick, Tick BOOM!’ was a fantastic night of theatre, tick, tick booming all of the right boxes! See what reviewer Benjamin Tubb thought of ‘Tick, Tick... BOOM!’, presented by THAT Production Company in association with Beenleigh Theatre Group Inc.

18.01.2022 Forbidden Broadway was certainly a show to experience and definitely one that all theatre lovers would enjoy. Although only running for one weekend, Casa Mia Productions produced a team of well-rounded performers who clearly loved what they were doing. See what reviewer Bethany Warnes-Jones thought of Casa Mia Productions's latest production of 'Forbidden Broadway Volume 1'.

14.01.2022 5, 6, 7 or 8 reasons to 'line' up for this classic musical! "The full cast and company of BTGs A Chorus Line should be commended for their outstanding production. Everything from the staging, costuming, and lighting was so incredibly authentic to that of an audition room that it was easy to forget you were actually watching people acting. A Chorus Line is natural and it is clear that the entire company really do not regret what they do for love!" Read what our reviewer Bethany Warnes-Jones thought of Beenleigh Theatre Group Inc's latest offering of 'A Chorus Line'.

13.01.2022 Bold, original, disturbing and alarmingly funny, Assassins is perhaps the most controversial musical ever written, being produced at Gold Coasts Javeenbah Theatre Company Inc in March. With all the controversy surrounding the United State's current president, will Sondheim need to rewrite Assassins in his lifetime?

12.01.2022 Were excited to be at the opening night of #PiratesofPenzance with @lynchandpaterson. Chookas all!

11.01.2022 Its all happening in Beenleigh tonight as were excited to be at @phoenixensembles QLD premiere of #LittleMissSunshine #review

10.01.2022 "It is too rare an experience to get lost in a new work, in particular something Australian, and so early in its development. Even more so a work taken from page to stage by some of Brisbanes most exciting up young talent. This team brings a work to life that, while incomplete and in need of some work, feels young and vital. It takes chances, and crashes headlong into risks, and even when they dont always pay off, it is a privilege to watch them try. What We Saw In The Sorghum Fields is a work that deserves to be seen, and further developed, and embraced as it grows to become a part of our whispered outback Australiana psyche." This brand new Australian work may have been and gone, but see what our reviewer Shane Webb thought of THAT Production Company's most recent production 'What We Saw In The Sorghum Fields'.

10.01.2022 "Full of quick-witted Sondheim rhymes, memorable songs, and an interesting, engaging story, Into the Woods has a cult classic standing for a reason. The Savoyards @ the Star production may have had its flaws, and its focus on the pantomime may not be for everyone, but overall the cast and crew should be proud of their accomplishments and we encourage you to pursue your own happily ever after." We were lucky enough to attend Savoyards Musical Theatre Brisbane preview night for their latest production of 'Into the Woods'. See what our reviewer Benjamin Tubb-Hearne thought of their storybook adventure.

09.01.2022 Take a knee ladies and gentlemen, Brisbanes iconic Princess Theatre is up for sale. With the impending closure of the Schonell at UQ, and the Gardens Point Theatre at QUT, and the recent rehousing of Metro Arts venues of this size in Brisbane are about to become a rarity. Which prompts the question, have we now reached the point that the protection of our performance venues needs to land on the shoulders of the community at large?

06.01.2022 Theatre in Brisbane is positively booming, and none more so than the independent sector. THAT Production Company are proudly presenting their latest production of What We Saw In The Sorghum Fields by Tremayne Gordon. In the late 1980s, three teenagers went missing on the Darling Downs... this is what they saw... A local outcast and two sisters find themselves lost in a field of sorghum. Charlie has dropped out of school. Hannah has run away. Lilly wants to see if there is mo...re to life than the humdrum of a country town. On the side of a road in a stolen car, they realise that they're not alone. As a creature calls to them from the crops, they begin to lose their grip on reality. Is what lurks in the dark more confronting than what they've tried to leave behind? A tribute to the 1980s and the scary stories that we used to tell each other before bed. Charlie, Hannah and Lilly are lost but they are not alone. Directed by Timothy Wynn Featuring Chris Patrick Hansen, Matilda Award Nominee Ella Macrokanis & Indigo Macrokanis Tickets available from www.thatproductioncompany.com.au.

04.01.2022 Nestled within the hussle and bustle of inner-city suburb Lutwych, Growl Theatre are proud to present their latest mainstage production Rumors by Neil Simon, under the expert direction of Matilda award-winning Director Simone De Haas. Playing from February 28 to March 14, you best be quick, because performances have already started to sell out, including opening night. And at only $20 (adult) or $17 (concession) youd be hard pushed to find a show with better value for money.

02.01.2022 "Javeenbah Theatre’s production of ‘Assassins’ slunk onto the stage like a thief in the night. Offering friendship and camaraderie to the unheard, the unloved, and the unstable. A ‘revuesical’ by Stephen Sondheim that examines the intertwining lives and legends of anyone who has, or has ever tried, to kill a President of the United States. ‘Assassins’ presents audiences with a paradox an illogically logical knot of characters, where time has no meaning, and you have no trouble believing that John Wilkes Booth is having a cheerful conversation with Lee Harvey Oswald." See what our reviewer Shane Webb thought of Javeenbah Theatre Company Inc's latest production of Stephen Sondheim's 'Assassins'.

Perfect for fans of plays, musicals or country and western classics, youd be crazy to miss this modern Australian classic." See what our reviewer Benjamin Tubb-Hearne thought of Gold Coast Little Theatre's latest offering: 'Lone Gone Lonesome Cowgirls'.
