07.01.2022 Friends, As we’re sure you are all well aware the past couple of weeks have been a scary time for the world and it’s not looking like it’s going to get better ...soon. People from all walks of life have been impacted. Especially close to home for us are the arts and arts communities. Talking to a few venues and bands recently we have seen the impact covid-19 has had on our music scene here in Canberra. Not only are shows being cancelled but attendance is down. It breaks our heart to see our community rocked like this. For those who were planning on coming to our event at The Front this Wednesday to see Yasmine Hosseini, Jim Dusty, and Barely Coping, we want you to know that at the time of writing the shows will be going forward and we will keep you updated as the day gets closer. We also want to encourage you to support your local musicians and venues as much as you can because this pandemic is hitting close to home. Go to shows if you are healthy and can do so but if not, support artists. Buy their music online, share events to people who might be interested, send them a message saying how much you love their music. In times like this we have seen music communities rally together and in a world that is getting scarier by the day the arts can act as a haven of love, community and care for those who need it. We love you and hope we’ll see you at a show. Homegrown x
