20.01.2022 Its not selfish. We need to look after ourselves and especially our minds! Sometimes we feel guilty when we make time for ourselves...or perhaps others make us feel guilty That is on them- not on us We need to remember that we cant give our best or contribute 100% if our cup is empty. How can you give even 80% when your cup is at 2%?? You simply cant. Its not possible. This is why we need to make time for our self care. Guilt free. No selfish negative self talk either

18.01.2022 A few weeks ago I posted about all the different factors that I see important for Mental Health and the approach I take at The Fulfilment Project. I believe it is multifaceted. So lets look at the Physical Body. The Soma. The vessel that carries our soul. The Tangible. Mental Health (believe it or not) has an origin in the Physical Body. Pain...the Nervous System....Hormones- these all have their place. Think about how Chronic Pain can make you feel depressed. Think about ho...w MOVEMENT and exercise can get your Endorphins pumping- leading to an increase in feeling happy. Think about Trauma...and in the wise words of Bessel Van der Kolk- how The Body Keeps the Score. Our bodies hold onto things...pain...trauma...and certain disorders. Understanding how your body works...listening to your body...and doing things that benefit your body (through exercise and eating well) can do some amazing things for your Mental Health See more

18.01.2022 Ok so why is sleep important for our Mental Health and why should we consider this? Well...simply put...if you dont get a sufficient amount of quality sleep...you dont function at your full capacity. You feel sluggish...drained...irritable...cant rationally think...struggle to remember things...and overall feel like ! It can affect our mood if we dont get enough sleep. But sleep isnt just important in terms of what if I dont get enough?. We need to understand HOW do...es anxiety (for example) impact on your sleep quality . Do you have thoughts that are keeping you awake?? Do you go to bed at 11pm and lay there ruminating for hours? It is important to understand HOW a condition is affecting sleep...and what the result is of that. 10.01.2022 So simple...in theory anyway haha Practically however...it can be sometimes difficult. Just remember that you are doing the best that you can to be that healthy human. I always say that the best way to start is to set little goals. Not huge ass goals...because it makes it very hard to achieve them right?! So if your stuck...set a little goal for your body ( I will walk for 30min once a week) and a little mind goal (I will write down one thing Im grateful for every day). Achieving these little goals will accumulate and help you to feel like a happy little human wooohooooo

I know sooooo many amazing Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychotherapists, and Psychiatrists who all are Ledgends in Mental Health Recovery & in their own scope of practice!! Research...and understand who is best for your needs- most of the time you may find you need a few health experts joining forces. Or one may refer you onto someone else Regardless- please make sur...e who you see is actually QUALIFIED!!! Meaning they have a degree or certification depending on their profession. Also that they have had some form of supervision through their studies AND they are registered with a board. For example OTs are registered with AHPRA! 06.01.2022 It is the small and subtle changes to our inner dialogue that can help change our mindset- and in turn change our mood. This is always one thing I like to do with my clients. Instead of telling yourself that you Have to do Something...change it to I get to do something. For example I HAVE TO go to Work....change that to I GET TO go to Work. Change it up. Not everybody has the opportunity to get to go to work...or have the opportunity to choose which job/career pat...h that would like to do. Another example is the gym. Change it to I GET TO go to the gym. Once again not everyone has the privilege of being able to use their body in a way that would even allow them to go to a gym or have access to a gym. This technique has elements of gratitude written all over it dosnt it? Switch up your mindset....accept gratitude into your day...and feel the positive vibes flow from it

Worried the instructor will yell at you and tell you to push harder (even though you really are pushing!)?... Scared the exercises are too hard?
