24.01.2022 YES. Thanks, Heather Shumaker Writer

24.01.2022 Last Thursday one of our Educators, Ms Riddhi, spoke to the children in the Purple Room about Diwali. A five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. They then helped her to do a Rangoli, which is an art form originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as coloured rice, coloured sand, quartz powder or flower petals. #diwali #thegapcubbyhouse #brisbanemontessori #thegapmontessori #cubbymontessori #montessori

22.01.2022 Ok, it is time for some Graduation 2020 spam. What a great night we had, and congratulations to our wonderful Graduates! We will miss you. Also, a big thank you to our parents for joining us at The Gap Tavern to celebrate. This year has been about all the things that we have been unable to get together for, so it was really nice to able to finely celebrate this milestone as a Cubby Community. #kindergartengraduation #thegapcubbyhouse #thegapmontessori #cubbymontessori #brisbanemontessori #montessori

22.01.2022 Weekend 2, Days 3&4 and we are finishing off our 4 days of workshop with our 36 years old educators. Thank you so much to Eva and Shahnaz for organising and running both weekends. We enter 2021 with more knowledge and consistency across the centre. Also a big thank you for the many MATEs who turned up to both weekends. #thegapmontessori

21.01.2022 Big thanks to Eva, Shahnaz and all the 0-3 educators for spending this weekend preparing our curriculum for next year.

20.01.2022 Attention Queenslanders We're in for some warm days. Let this be an important reminder that the temperature under the canopy of an enclosed pram can be up to 15 degrees hotter than outside Keep your baby cool and seek shade.

13.01.2022 I just spotted this in one of our local groups and thought it would be of interest to our many new and existing families to the area. Please make sure you bring a donation down to the Ronald McDonald house if you visit.

09.01.2022 During the Week of the 8th to 15th November we celebrated NAIDOC week as well as Remembrance Day. This years theme for NAIDOC Week was 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. Recognising that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. For Remembrance Day we spoke about 'symbols' like the red poppy and why we wear them as well as talking about why we do remember. We were also lucky enough to have Henry's (purple room) dad Brian, who is in the Airforce, come and talk to the children. #NAIDOCweek #remembranceday #thegapcubbyhouse #thegapmontessori #brisbanemontessori #monressori

08.01.2022 This term we had a visit from Police Officer Stu. He spoke to the older children about road safety, stranger danger, the importance of listening to your adult when near a road and what to do if you are separated from your caregiver. Then the real fun began! All our classes got to go out into the car park to see Officer Stu's police car. Here we were able to sit in the front and back seat, with some children even getting a chance to drive! The best bit was listening to all the different sirens (even if we did block our ears) and watch the flashing lights. Thanks Officer Stu.

05.01.2022 It may not feel like it goes fast when the children are you but trust me it does go fast. I remember feeling like my oldest growing old was taking forever when she was 1, 10 years later if feels like a wink of the eye and she is now in grade 6 and rapidly catching up in height. Enjoy them while they are small. It goes so fast.

03.01.2022 Even the smallest child delights in reading, in fact even older children delight in the snuggles and one on one time reading together. Read read read, it might be a chore but it will become a much cherished memory for your child and it will set them up for academic success for life.

02.01.2022 If your kid struggles tonight, remember this... then consider allowing them to eat foods that don't trigger them.
