19.01.2022 Hi all, due to the COVID cluster developing as we speak in Qld, Downey Park is asking that from 10:30am onwards today no spectators attend games, to limit possible transmissions. This is in line with a press conference about these new cases finishing at that time. Please respect this request and drop your kids off and go. See the Qhealth Facebook page for more information. Thanks everyone!
18.01.2022 It’s with a heavy heart, and a great deal of consultation, that we have decided to cancel the 2020 regular fixture season. Like everyone, our community has bee...n impacted by COVID-19, and this decision was made with you all at the front of our minds. As we navigate these uncertain times, we want to ensure netball can still be part of our lives this year when the time is right. Although these can’t be formalised just yet, upon resumption of normal netball community activities, we’ll be looking to: Host carnivals for specific age groups (Opens, Intermediates, Cadets etc.) using our unreleased draw by asking clubs to nominate teams Twilight carnivals for our State Age and QPL teams A spring/summer fixture hosted at Downey, by Downey, on a Friday night, either with organised teams or on a come and play basis Although we won’t be taking the court as normal this year, we’re with all of our community during this uncertain time. We’re here for the long haul, so stay connected with us through our Instagram, Facebook and website #fortheloveofnetball Here is the link to our website, which has all COVID-19 related updates http://www.downeypark.qld.netball.com.au/pageitem.aspx
17.01.2022 Following the recent developments in South Brisbane related to COVID-19, we ask that anyone who may have been in the below locations at the identified times ...to not attend or participate in training or fixtures until they have completed the necessary period of self-isolation, and have returned a negative COVID-19 test. This is to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our broader community. We must be mindful, and remain honest for our sport to continue to operate safely. Although we've waited longer than usual to get our season underway, the health of all participants is paramount, and cannot be put at risk. If you are a close contact of a confirmed or possible COVID-19 case, please follow all Queensland Health directives, and stay home (unless being tested). Here is some further information on impacted locations and contact tracing: https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing
16.01.2022 Due to this morning’s Queensland Health announcements, we are asking that as of the 10:30 round today, no spectators attend the rest of the day’s games. We’re ...still able to continue under our COVID-Safe plan, but ask out of respect for the health and safety of our community, that no spectators come to the courts. At this stage, this is only for today, and is an extra precaution for all players and our community. To ensure we can play out all of our fixtures, please make sure we continue to adhere to our COVID-Safe points: Regular hand hygiene (sanitise before, during and after games) Adhere to our entry (Allom Street) and exit points (Green Terrace) Only arrive 15 minutes prior to your game time, and immediately leave the courts once your game has finished Maintain 1.5m social distance whilst off court We thank our community for their ongoing assistance in ensuring we can remain on court, in a safe way
