18.01.2022 Remembrance Day is less than a month away, with 11:00am on November 11th this year marking the 100th anniversary of the ending of hostilities of World War 1 after the signing of the Armistice of Compigne. Leading up to the day, members of The Gap RSL will be out in the community selling Remembrance Day merchandise to raise money for the new entrance gates to The Gaps own own Memorial Park, a donation to be the cherry on the cake of the recent park upgrade. Today (13th Oct...) well be selling merchandise at The River City Churchs Market Day (bring a brolly) and between 3rd-10th November well be selling at The Gap Shopping Centre. Weve got some beautiful merchandise this year (poppies, pins and badges, ear rings, pens, travel mugs, stubbie coolers and more), so please drop by for a look. We look forward to saying gday at one of our stalls or at the service on 11 November. On 11 November, pause to remember. Lest We Forget

16.01.2022 The Governor has recorded this video message to commemorate the end of the Boer War on 31 May 1902. The Boer War saw the first full Australian commitment to a ...foreign military campaign with Queensland the first colony to offer troops to serve. The 89 Queensland soldiers who died in this war are remembered with the statue of The Scout in ANZAC Square in Brisbane. #LestWeForget. See more
14.01.2022 It is with great sadness that The Gap RSL announces the passing of one of our longest serving life members Vic LeFeuvre. Vic passed away peacefully on the night of the 6th November. Vic had a long association with the Sub-branch and served on the Committee including stints as the President (1978 79) and was also the President of the Services Club on Settlement Road in 1976. Vics funeral service will be held at St. Columbas Catholic Church, 204 Kedron Brook Road, Wilston, Tuesday 13th November 2018 (tomorrow) at 10am.

07.01.2022 This is what Remembrance Day is about ...
07.01.2022 Happy weekend everyone. Less than two weeks until ANZAC Day (25th April). This is just a friendly reminder that there will be a short road closure on the day to accommodate The Gap ANZAC Day march. The road closure will affect the southern (outbound) lanes of Waterworks Rd, from the entrance of The Gap State High School to the junction of Glenaffric Street for approximately 20 minutes between 9:00am - 9:45am.
07.01.2022 Can you remember when Dad or Mum or the neighbour's son or daughter went off to defend our country, to preserve our way of life, to help other nations not able ...to defend themselves? Can you remember that not all of them returned and that some who did were not whole in body or mind? Can you remember why they made their sacrifice, gave their service? Covid stole our ANZAC Day service this year but it did not overcome our Australian spirit because we defeated Covid by rising to stand in our driveways to commemorate the sacrifice and service of those brave and staunch fellow citizens who passed before us. Covid has not prevented Remembrance Day Commemorations across our country and, in particular, in The Gap. Citizens of The Gap, be let it known that The Gap RSL Sub-Branch will be mounting a Commemoration in ANZAC Memorial Park, on the corner of Waterworks Road and Glen Affric Street, The Gap, on Wednesday, 11 November 2020, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will be simple. People attending are asked to come in small groups and to exercise social distancing in begrudging recognition that the dreaded Covid still may lurk in our midst. What if you cannot attend because of school, work or other issues, ask your workmates, bosses, teacher, classmates, etc., to pause and observe a minutes silence at 11:00 a.m. Affix a poppy to your letterbox or front door to let the world know that you remember and you care. Poppies may be purchased at the Remembrance Stall in The Gap Shopping Village.
06.01.2022 Our President, Rod Adamson, our talented writer, Anna Lang, and a valued Auxiliary Member, Steve Toomey who, in his spare time, is the Brisbane City Councillor for The Gap WARD
05.01.2022 The Gap Sub Branch notified members today of our cancellation of this years ANZAC Day march and service due to the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic. We will keep you posted should there be changes to this plan. This is obviously very disappointing however the decision has been made in order to do our part in slowing the spread of Coronavirus.
04.01.2022 Our ANZACs stomped at the Somme, now we stomp to honour their memory. Less than two weeks until The Gap RSL hosts 2018s STOMP.
