25.01.2022 What's six months old, 40kg, and loves cuddles? It's Zeus! This adorable goofball popped into the clinic for suture removal following his castration and managed to steal all our hearts while he was here!

24.01.2022 Before and after shots from Peppers dental procedure today! Pepper had heavy calculus on her rear teeth, but luckily for her this dental was performed early enough to prevent secondary complications such as gum recession, exposure of the tooth roots, and loose/rotten teeth. As a result Pepper was able to go home with no extractions required and lovely shiny pearly whites!

13.01.2022 Baby Frankie is having a snooze following her JPS and spey surgery today Juvenile pubic symphysiodesis (JPS) is a procedure that can be performed in susceptible dogs as a preventative to developing painful hip dysplasia later in life. It works by changing the angle of the growing hip joint and by doing so providing a better fit between the pelvis and leg. Puppies that display evidence of hip subluxation (partial dislocation) who get JPS surgery are at much lower risk o...f developing hip dysplasia in the future, and those that do have less severe symptoms. Frankie was super brave for the procedure and teddy was there to comfort her when she woke up!

13.01.2022 What's better than a pug? Two pugs! Nurse Simmone made sure Rosie and Gertrude were well looked after during their dental procedures today.

12.01.2022 Sweet little Akita the Siberian got herself in a bit of a bind when her beautiful long hair started to form into thick mats. She spent the day in nurse Christines salon today for a clip. Were sure Akita is feeling a lot more comfortable now, but possibly also a little colder than shes used to!

11.01.2022 Found - This lovely little cockatiel was brought in by a good samaritan today. We love to talk & will step up onto a pen if asked but doesnt like to be handled. If you know who the owner is please give us a call on 3300 1533.

11.01.2022 Little Echo was feeling nice and relaxed while getting cuddles from nurse Alyce this morning! Echo is relaxed thanks to the pre-anaesthetic medication she received. All of our surgical patients get a pre-med. This works as a sedative and pain relief, and also helps to lower the amount of anaesthetic gasses we need to give - which leads to a safer procedure and better recovery for patients like Echo

10.01.2022 We thought the humour of this meme would create a visual reminder to our pet loving community. Remember to follow advice in order to be safe. Minimal touching of your face is just as important as regular washing of your hands with soap. Take care everyone. Have a great day.

08.01.2022 Meet Max! At only 14 weeks of age Max is full of mischief and he decided that lily flowers would make for a nice snack. He tried to act innocent but the yellow staining around the mouth was a dead giveaway! Lucky for Max his owners were quick to rush him to the vet to induce vomiting. He was then fitted with a custom-made "bib" to keep him clean while being fed activated charcoal to help mop up any remaining toxin. What a day! Lilies are toxic to cats and dogs. In cats, ingestion of any part of the lily plant can cause a potentially lethal acute kidney disease. In dogs, the most common effects are vomiting, diarrhoea, heart arrhythmia, and tremors. The best treatment is prevention, so make sure your pet has no access to lily plants, and if you suspect they may have ingested even a small amount, get them to the vet as soon as possible!

08.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: A message to our valued clients, friends, and community. We remain committed to providing a safe environment for our clients and staff. If your pet requires medical care please phone the clinic on (07) 3300 1533 and we will make a plan to assist you. 07.01.2022 The grumpiest little lion you ever did see!

07.01.2022 Good Morning All, The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) has established a working group to review the evolving information on COVID-19. The AVA has provided the following information. If you have asked yourself this question:... "Should I avoid contact with pets or other animals if I am sick with COVID-19? " read on. As the outbreak continues, a number of pet owners will be placed in quarantine, either with confirmed COVID-19 infection or due to exposure. We know that your pet is part of your family and you will want them to have the same level of protection and care as any other family member. Current information suggests there is no apparent risk to you or your pet from being in quarantine with you. However, we do advise all pet owners to continue to practice appropriate hand hygiene - before and after handling their pet - before and after handling the pets food and water bowls As this is an evolving situation, pet owners who may become infected with COVID-19 disease, should take precautionary steps, minimising close contact with their pets and continue to practice appropriate hand hygiene. At no stage should pet owners be taking measures that may compromise the welfare of their pets.
