25.01.2022 Join us tonight for the second last Adelaide Fringe performance of Feast on Waste Lands Far Far Away at the Adelaide Town Hall Meeting Hall from 9:00pm bit.ly/2SdWZgvbit.ly/2SdWZ

24.01.2022 "To cancel or not to cancel is no longer the issue." Macrons speech on monday evening declaring the ban on all large gatherings till at least mid-July prompted Oliver Py, director of the Avignon IN to make this statement. Now both Avignon IN (main) and OFF (fringe) 2020 have finally officially announced that the 2020 festival will be cancelled. We all knew it would most probably be cancelled but here is the official verdict. So let us plan for 2021. Its only a year away.

24.01.2022 Dont miss the final Wives of Wolfgang show of the Adelaide Fringe tonight at the Adelaide Town Hall Meeting Hall!

24.01.2022 Stephanie Babiak at Everything Adelaide has written a thoughtful and insightful 5 star review of Mengele from SmokeScreen Productions UK. Showing at The Garage International until March 13 - bit.ly/2OSZvs1 It is a necessary and painful truth, in an era of rising antisemitism and general intolerance, reminding us of the desperate need to have empathy and kindness for one another. To consciously choose, as one Holocaust survivor told Marriott, to be kind. If you only see one show this year, make it this one.

23.01.2022 The final 2 shows of Mengele by SmokeScreen Productions UK will at The Garage International 7:30pm tonight and tomorrow. bit.ly/2OSZvs1 Mengele is a show of utmost importance, and one that should be seen by all. It takes on a difficult task, managing to rescue the voice and face of the individual victim while still holding the perpetrator up for judgment. Marriott speaks at the end of how they had been cautioned not to make a monster out of Mengele, but rather to remind people that he, like us, was human. Stephanie Babiak, Everything Adelaide

A big hearty thanks to our techs Mark and Lucas, our young and vibrant production manager Poppy, our box office volunteers Bob, Judie, Martina, Mary, Meg, Pippa, Carole & Dave, our fantastic interns Ria and Sarah (who did a fabulous job managing our facebook) and our work experience student, Mica. 11.01.2022 In these crazy times let us think of something positive and plan for a vibrant Adelaide Fringe 2021. It may be different. It may be smaller and definitely will have a far less - if at all - international presence but with all the wonderful artists in Australia I am sure that we will have a different and unique festival if we all join forces. Thus for 2021 The Garage International will go Local! We have a great venue that will be able to take all social distancing into account without trouble. Give it a go and come to us. Art and live performances will continue to thrive!

06.01.2022 Adelaide Fringe 2020 Review [MUSIC/World Music ~ JPN] The koto is a beautiful looking and sounding instrument. Especially when in the hands of a virtuoso such a...s Kawaguchi. The musical structure is a world away from the western music heard throughout this country. Although the sound is quite percussive, the overall impact is one of intoxicating peacefulness; it is almost mesmerising. 05.01.2022 The second week of the Fringe was a blur. As you know The Wives of Wolfgang received the Best Cabaret Award and Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers received the Best Music Award. Bharata Natyam & Beethoven got 2 five start reviews and Koto got a four star review. And you can read the fantastic reviews for Mengele posted here as well. Appassionata was even more intense than the first show and got a great write up in the Herald. The final show which will be on 7 March I promise, will be different again. Far Far Away arrived safely from Hong Kong and had their opening on sunday. This week they will be at The Garage International @ Pilgrim Uniting Church which is right next door to our Town Hall venue. It is a beautiful church and I am sure the stunning setting will be perfect to whisk you Far Far Away.

04.01.2022 Another glowing review of Tim Marriott and Stefanie Rossis brilliant performances in Mengele. You can see them as part of the Adelaide Fringe at the Adelaide Town Hall Meeting Hall until March 13. Marriott is fully committed to his performance and is perfectly complimented by the performance of Stefanie Rossi. They make a great team and the show highlights just what can happen when racism is left to run riot and how easy it is for the human race to turn on each other. - http://bit.ly/2OSZvs1

03.01.2022 Head to The Garage International tonight at 5:00pm for the final Adelaide Fringe performance of Appassionata by Shakti. Shaktis performance was recently reviewed by John Ovenden for The Heralds Thats Showbiz: Appassionata, the first of Japanese dancer Shaktis Fringe shows is an exceptionally sensitive, writhing performance of seduction, and graceful passion.... Based on TS Eliots Four Quartets, and set to Beethovens 23rd Piano Sonata, her show takes the audience on an improvised journey from birth, through life to death, via earthquake, flood and fire, accompanied at the piano by Riccardo Barone. Here is a dancer with deserved international reputation, once again displaying amazing talent, that regularly takes her overseas to perform at other major arts festivals. Well worth seeing, whether you are a student of dance, or a long time admirer of the art and dedicated skill.

01.01.2022 Registration deadline is approaching. Contact us now to be part of Adelaide Fringe 2021. You'll get a fantastic venue with the best service.
