23.01.2022 Seeing alot of peeps getting anxious/confused about their garlic crops and wanted to share some of our photos of what we expect from ours. Hope it helps you. Descriptions in photo's. By the way we planted in late April and have completed our second last feed today. Last feed in two weeks. We will switch off watering at the same time - approximately two weeks prior to harvest.

21.01.2022 Hey peeps. We've had a few people ask 'should I pull out my garlic because of the rain?' Yes we have enjoyed an amazing amount of rain over the past month. We recorded approx. 170mm here in our Brogo patch and we know alot of other areas received considerably more. Leaving your garlic in the ground in normal conditions as long as you can is fantastic for storage later in the shed etc. We have started our harvest on our bottom rows due to waterlogging and the potential that will pose for our crop. Although the leaves are still pretty green, our garlic has shouldered and hence we pulled ours out. We managed to dry the bulbs in the sun BEFORE we hung them in the shed to minimise any damage to our garllic. Hope that helps and good luck! :)

18.01.2022 Our first garlic braid (Italian Pink with scapes left on) and Russian Elephant scape braid for 2020. We have harvested nine rows with ten to go. The garlic is looking fantastic and we couldn't be happier. We wish everyone a successful harvest. :)

15.01.2022 We are Allium crazy here at the Garlic Clinic and I wanted to share one of my experiences of keeping food off cuts and re-growing it, not a new thing but my first attempt at an onion variety. The first pic is of shop bought Shallots I had cut the ends off and dried out. The second pic is of how they grew out. Not all of them reappeared about 65% did and they look stunning. I also grew brown onions from strings in a punnet and let a few of these grow out to enormous sizing. The only downside to the enormous one's is they fill up with too much water and will rot very quickly. We ate the biggest one last night, it was delicious.

The recipe is available on our website here www.thegarlicclinic.com Very easy to put together. A great way to preserve your garlic for winter or as a snack - anytime. Use the brine for your salads, it's packed with delicious herbs to compliment any green leafy salad. We DON'T take the skins off. The skins slip off when you need to use them. Use your pickled garlic as you would normal garlic cloves. Slip off the skin and slice, mince or roast whole. Enjoy!

06.01.2022 After receiving 208mm over two days I was too nervous to look at our garlic patch in case of damage. I got the courage up this morning to walk the paddocks and was delighted with what I saw. Paddocks and garlic all draining well into our front gully and the cows enjoying the sunshine and the fresh pick. #HEAVENLYGARLIC

01.01.2022 Hey peeps - yes we are soooooo close to harvest it drives you crazy. But......I have taken some pictures of what we would expect to put in our shed and also what some garlic looks like that is not quite there yet as a comparison to help you out. Now if the garlic you have is the sort that is 'Not quite there yet' , please hang on to it. Explanations and descriptions in the picture comments. :)
