21.01.2022 On the news the other night, a gas explosion caused the death of the occupant of the home in Sydney, and serious injury of 2 police officers attending the scene. Gas is an invisible danger, regardless of the smell....

20.01.2022 GAS SAFETY-GAS SAFTEY-GAS SAFETY- I am passionate about safety with gas in the home and business. Please remember Gas can be hazardous if gas leaks from your gas cyclinder, regulator, or loose fittings. The Gas Depot recommends that gas certificates be renewed at least every 10 years.... My suggestion is to take some soapy water to your gas cyclinder and test for leaks by pouring the soapy water over all fittings, to see if bubbles form. If you see bubbles, then gas is escaping, may settle and become a hazard if an ignition source is found, and is costing you money. from lost gas. Call us now for a gas health check. 17.01.2022 Have been dealing with an interesting issue lately. Attention please: Real Estate Agents/Property Managers,. Under Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008... Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Regulation 2009 Division 9 Miscellaneous 39 Supply of goods and servicess 171 (1) The lessor or the lessor’s agent must not require the tenant to buy goods or services from the lessor or a person nominated by the lessor or agent. (2) Subclause (1) does not apply to a requirement about a service charge. This has been an issue for Tenants being unable to have a choice of essential service provider in rental premises. The RTA, The Office of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs take a dim view on this issue. In their view, it is illegal to force anyone to use a specific supplier when a choice is avialble. I have really had a great education on QLd Real Estate Law over what seems harmless advice from Property Managers/Agents It pays to keep up with the Law. Regards Alex

16.01.2022 Dear all our loyal " The Gas Depot" customers. As many of our wonderful gas customers may have been informed, Elgas has decided to no longer use The Gas Depot as their gas agency. To date we have not had any plausible or logical reasoning as to WHY??? The nature of large corporate entities seem to have a care factor that is zero to small businesses, which is quite apparent to Dan and Myself (Alex) now.... We had a weeks notice that Elgas was terminating our agency, which has been a shock and a huge financial negative for The Gas Depot. Fortunately, Supagas have been looking into the area, and once information was discovered, the smart thing Supagas did was to make an immediate commitment to the Fraser Coast, partner up with The Gas Depot and continue with the best service for gas products locally through Dan, who is the champion of domestic and forklift gas here in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. So if you see the green ute around it means Daniel is delivering gas to our customers under the Supagas brand, with his cheerful and excellent customer service attitude. Supagas has a motto."Yes we can", which is exactly what The Gas Depot and Supagas will continue to do. Please give Dan and Supagas a call when gas is needed. The competitive nature of Supagas is amazing, and the service is the icing on the cake. Looking forward to continuing being your local gas supplier here on the Fraser Coast. The exciting future will continue once the industrial range of gasses are stocked i the near future. Inquiries welcome now of course. Thanks to all the positive response we have had since news has spread. Kindest regards Dan and Alex. See more

16.01.2022 How time flys...must be getting older or busier? The vehicles are now identifiable with new signage. Love to here any comments when you see them.... Thank you Alex

03.01.2022 It was pleasing to see that there were no reports of any safety issues from gas safety after the storm. They can become missiles in very strong wind. A big thank you to the FCC, the Mayor, CEO and the FCC Team for their hard work in cleaning up after the storm damage. Come Sunday, the mess was controlled, removed or secured, amazing effort.

03.01.2022 Elgas has a new promotion running. "Elgas Senior Savers Specials" $100 worth of gas credits and 15% off any catalogue LPG appliance purchased through Elgas. The Gas Depot will do a free gas leak safety check of the gas bottles, regulator and connections for all Senior customers who participate in this Elgas promotion. Please remember, if you smell gas there may be a leak. Simply shut the bottle off and call The Gas Depot for assistance. Stay safe Alex

01.01.2022 With Christmas looming, and a busy festive time taking much of our spare time, please make sure that you have enough gas for your household use and of course the BBQ. Yep...like a broken record, please be safe with gas.... IS your Gas Cylinder in date? Check your BBQ, regulator, and connections for leaks or cracked hoses We have swap n gos and refills available.... Also, please take the time to check for gas leaks, with some soapy water dribbled over the connections around the cycliners including the regulators. Simply look for the bubbles that indicate gas loss. It surprises me how much gas is lost to leaks when customers say that a cyclinder has empied in a matter of weeks. The most common failure is the gas regulator, essential to keep gas constant pressure into the gas appliances. If you have any doubts, please contact The Gas Depot for support. Elgas also have a new promotion for "Savings for Seniors", . Please look on the Elgas website for http://www.elgas.com.au more information. Alex See more
