Featuring curved timber panelling, completed wholly in-house (view previous post) and customised acoustic panelling, the Sydney Lyric Theatre has been given an update, reflecting it's grandeur and prestige with decorative yet functional panelling.

17.01.2022 GDK’s panelling brand, Imprint Acoustics, were featured on 7 News Sydney, in a story on the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour. Described as: modular shaped jigsaw puzzle with suspended panels curving around walls and ceilings, GDK were happy to collaborate with the ICC in delivering an intricate yet aesthetically pleasing design with the aim of reducing noise encroachment. Additionally, Imprint’s upholstered acoustic panels were also featured in Australia’s largest ballroom. With a fabric covering, these acoustic panels deliver a soft note to a grand reception area, with a fabric that is hardwearing and durable.

10.01.2022 The team at GDK have been working on a detailed panelling project for the Sydney Lyric Theatre. Our team set up a makeshift steam room which allows for the manipulation of timber through steam. Once the timber has spent time in the steam chamber, they are removed and swiftly fixed to the structure. The final result is a curved, decorative timber panel. Once this is completed, the panels are sanded and tidied up, before being stained. Stay tuned for more updates on this project, including the photos of the finished product!
