25.01.2022 Hi Bungendore! Weve had a lot of calls asking if we will be opening today and while we understand and appreciate how eager everyone is to come back to the George weve decided that we wont be opening yet. Its important for us to ensure our business maintains a strong position during these difficult times and we dont want to have to turn some of our loyal locals away simply because we have too many people in the venue.... At this stage reopening just doesnt make sense for us but the minute we are able to open at a greater capacity we will make an announcement. For the moment we will continue to operate 12pm-8pm, 7 days a week for takeaway and delivery. Again, we appreciate the continued support and patience from our awesome community!

16.01.2022 Hey Bungendore, We have had a few calls asking if we are opening in light of the current restrictions easing. Our main focus is still to ensure that our business can remain feasible as we move forward and although conditions have eased there are still heavy restrictions on our industry regarding how many patrons we are allowed to have in the venue and how we operate. From today we are governed by a capacity that must not exceed 50 customers or one customer per 4 square metr...es in a seated dining area. We need to be mindful of the impact this may have on our business so we arent going to rush the process. The 4 sqm ruling at this stage prohibits us from opening in the manner we require to be financially viable. So for the moment we will continue with what we have been doing for the past 10 weeks by serving our takeaway menu. All that being said we cannot wait to have our bars and restaurant operating at capacity again, we miss our customers and were looking forward to seeing you all again! We sincerely appreciate the enthusiasm and the patience the community has shown through this and we hope to see you again soon!

11.01.2022 !!Good News Story!! Beyond The Blaze Update! Some good news today. ... Following our Beyond the Blaze fundraiser back in February. Although we are still waiting on a couple of folk paying & collecting their silent auction prizes (we have made up the shortfall ourselves in the meantime) we decided we could wait no longer and have deposited the funds raised to our nominated organisations bank accounts this week. Recap: Through the Beyond The Blaze Bungendore event held at the Lake George Hotel and associated raffles and silent auction we raised $9760. The Lake George Hotel has generously matched that amount with an additional donation of $9760 bringing the total going to our local rural fire services and the Salvos appeal to $19,340. We have split this up with 75% going to our local RFS and 25% going to the Salvos appeal. After discussions with Bungendore Volunteer Rural Fire Station we have deposited $14,505 into the Local RFS bank account. Bungendore RFS will work out where across the local region RFS stations this will be distributed. $4835 has also been deposited into the Salvos fund to assist with the great work they have been doing. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, came along on the day and participated in the additional fundraising events going on. Despite the unpredictable weather and us having to curtail ticket sales with moving to a wet weather plan. It was a fantastic day and great to see so many faces here at the hotel coming together after such horrid time over the holiday period. A massive thanks also to all the organisations, businesses, volunteers, hotel staff and crew from Country Rocks who donated time and resources in helping with the event. Finally, to the beautiful performers who came from far and wide and put on such a great days entertainment for a great cause. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
