25.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, Firstly on behalf of the Board of SALDA and myself we wanted to wish you and your family a happy and safe Festive Season and New Year. We are looking forward to a great and exciting 2021. It is our great pleasure to announce that we have now fully secured the funds to cover the building of the first of our new buildings in the Masterplan that was unveiled back in late 2019 at the Gala. We expect that we will have plans finalised and the tender process co...mpleted by early April and all being well expect to turn dirt on 1st of June 2021 and a completion of the build by the end of term 1 2022. This is a fantastic achievement for our organisation and is the culmination of a lot of hard work so we can now start seeing the physical realisation of that planning process and the symbolism of our growth and development of the organisation into the future. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or queries. Once again have a great Christmas and see you all in 2021. Regards Peter Seldon Chair of SALDA

24.01.2022 Life’s better poolside! Middle School students and staff love Mondays because that’s the day we go swimming at the Jindalee Pool! As well as becoming better swimmers, we are learning some important lifesaving skills, like how to get in and out of the water safely, and what to do if you find yourself in deep water. There are lots of opportunities to build up our strength and endurance and we even get to swim underwater! We work hard in the indoor pool during our lesson, then... get to play with our friends in the 50m outdoor pool. Somewhere along the way, we squeeze in lunch and games with friends, before getting ready to return to school in time for pick up whew! Over to the students I like swimming because it is fun and you get to do lessons like backstroke, and I like to do kicking. And I like to do talon ball. Ezra Spending time with my friends at the pool! - Tyler I like free time swimming because you can do whatever you want in the pool. Samuel I like swimming because I can get to relax [during] free swimming play. Tate Free swimming! Brendan, Fin, Gabe, Jordan, Khayden, Oliver, Owen, Rhys, Yuna I love having a picnic lunch with my friends! Djimon, Rory and Serren I like having a change from school. Lincoln I like being at school better. Anonymous #salda #theglenleighdenschool

07.01.2022 Did You Know? Children may enter Junior School from other schools or may transition from Glenleighden’s Early Childhood program. The Junior School program is based on a modified Australian Curriculum and students’ individual needs, catering for students from Years 1 to 2, and sometimes Year 3, depending on the individual student. Junior School also has a high staff to student ratio and utilises a multidisciplinary team.... Children at this level are generally beginning to cope with more formal expectations of school and are encouraged to gradually develop their independence in a safe and supported environment. They further develop their knowledge and skills through excursions, incursions and extracurricular activities. #salda #theglenleighdenschool
