We are not a charity group... although from time to time we do take in people who are down on their jobsearching luck and give them some time to work up a bank balance and then they pay the accommodation fees due when they can... Please before making a booking consider the fact that each and every week you need to pay your accommodation fee. AND NO ANIMALS ALLOWED!! ... Loretta :)

11.01.2022 **** NO VISITOR POLICY **** The globe backpackers has a strict 'No Visitor' policy... This is verbally emphasised to guests upon check in, it is outlined in our house rules on our registration forms, it is displayed around the hostel and now it's even on Facebook. Breaking house rules can result in loss of deposit and or eviction as stated on registration forms, you sign and agree to these when you check in. This rule is to ensure your stay @ The Globe is a SAFE and PLEASANT one...

11.01.2022 **** REGISTERED**** The Globe Backpackers is registered with the ATO to employ backpackers and with hold the 15% tax. (Unregistered employers will have to tax backpackers 32.5% from tomorrow)... Happy New Year

Backpackers SPEND a whole lot of MONEY here IN GRIFFITH...If this tax is implemented in January, the tourist numbers will drop dramatically and so will local shop profits.... and that's just here, imagine the rest of Oz... The government thinks that by pushing forward with this tax they will make profit BUT they are going to cost AUSTRALIA much more as backpackers won't even bother coming here!! This tax is scheduled for January 2017 and it is going to make a massive problem Australia wide as well as locally here in Griffith... 32.5% taxed on a minimum wage is a fair chunk. They do not get back the 32.5% tax... Coming to Australia will not be as attractive and they will be be inclined to seek jobs in other countries.... Caus...ing a labour shortage Australia wide....
