From BPD Awareness Week: This year's campaign, 'Flipping the Script: Changing the Narrative on BPD' aims to change the way we think and talk about borderline personality disorder. ... It encourages people living with BPD to be mindful of the way they think about themselves, allow others to see their challenges, move towards strengths-based self-talk and to celebrate their strengths. It also challenges families, supporters and people working with those living with BPD to change the way they speak and write about people living with BPD, to encourage and promote the individual’s strengths, reframe their challenges into strengths-based language, educate themselves by accessing new research, and amplify the voice of lived experience.

24.01.2022 We are back for 2021 from Monday 11th January! We understand Brisbane is currently in a 3-day lockdown - we hope you are all doing as well as you can under the circumstances. We will be reopening for the year on Monday 11th January, even though in lockdown, as we are a healthcare service. All appointments on Monday 11th January will be going ahead face-to-face. If you would prefer a telehealth appointment, please contact our Client Relations Team. ... In the interests of the safety and wellbeing of our precious clients and staff, when you attend your appointments on Monday the following measures will be in place: -COVID-safe plan, which includes social distancing and sanitation provisions; -all staff will be wearing masks; -you are required to wear a mask if you choose to attend your appointment in person; -please do not bring any family members of friends to your appointment so as to maintain social distancing in our waiting room and consulting rooms; -telehealth is available if you would prefer not to attend in person. 20.01.2022 We are extremely pleased to announce that we have provisional psychologist Anna joining our Glow Team! As part of our commitment to excellence and giving back to our profession by nurturing the next generation of psychologists, every year we host masters students on their final placements. Anna will be joining us for her final placement from October, until March next year. Anna is available for low cost psychological therapy on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from next week. She iden...tifies working with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and low self-esteem as her passions. She will be seeing clients from 16yo and above. 12.01.2022 Fantastic news just in! The 2020 Federal Budget includes a doubling of the number of Medicare rebates for psychology from 10 to 20 per calendar year! This will help to make ongoing psychological therapy more accessible to many and we are so, so pleased. No information on the finer details available yet (such as when this change will come into effect) but nevertheless, it’s a huge win for our clients and a huge win for Psychology today! #glowcentre #findyourglow

10.01.2022 Welcome to our new premises!

10.01.2022 Our new premises is coming along beautifully! Here is a sneak peek of our reception desk, a couple of our consulting rooms, and our entryway stairs. The finishing touches are being completed this week. We can’t wait for you to see the finished product in person - from Tuesday the 6th of October!

10.01.2022 Our signage is up, just in time for our opening on Tuesday! From Tuesday the 6th of October we will be practising in our brand new location! Our new address is Unit 13, 2081 Moggill Road, Kenmore. We are located in the front building of the Kenmore Medical Centre complex, facing on to Moggill Road. It is an approximate 100-metre walk up Moggill Road from our old premises. We are very excited to show you our new home!

03.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE! We hope you are all managing with the announcement of a three-day lockdown in Brisbane. We would like to confirm that we will still be reopening on Monday 11 January and it will be business as usual for The Glow Centre. At this time, you are allowed to leave your home to attend healthcare services (see photo), which we are. So it remains business as usual for us. As we did during the last lockdown, we will take every precaution for the safety of our clients... and staff in the practice. If you would prefer not to come to your appointment on Monday in person, we will offer telehealth instead so you don’t have to delay your treatment. We will contact everyone with appointments on Monday over the weekend, to give you the option of a telehealth appointment. If you do come to your appointment in person, as per the current requirements, you will need to wear a mask - we have a large supply of masks if you do not have one. Our staff will be wearing masks. We have a COVID-safe plan in place that includes sanitation and social distancing, so you can be reassured you will be safe and comfortable while you are in the practice. We will keep you updated as more information comes to hand. Remember some tips for maintaining your mental health during this time: snooze the news! Get some exercise.
