23.01.2022 Often, the weakest part of a golfer’s body is their hip on pelvis function - one of the most integral parts of the dynamic weight shift and thus club head speed! Without strong, and effectively coordinated muscle control around your lateral hip, buttock, hamstring and lower back, you can't have a golf swing that is both powerful and technically sound. Try adding glute bridge options to your routine - they target these important muscles specifically.

22.01.2022 About a year ago, The Golf Athlete was in Texas, USA completing physical assessments and programming updates for PGA Tour Players, John Senden and Rod Pampling. We missed seeing them this year and other College-based players. Here is John Senden, working with his long time PGA Teaching Professional, Ian Triggs at the Brookwater Golf Club. We are looking forward to visiting our international partners once it’s safe to do so again!

06.01.2022 It’s been good to spend some time on home soil amidst everything going on in the world. We are however looking forward to travelling to the UK to host seminars in England and Europe once it’s safe for all involved parties. Pictured here, Michael Dalgleish and Dr Rob Neal presenting the Level I TGA Seminar to a room of PGA Professional at the London Club a few years ago. Hope to see you at one the TGA seminars in the future.

04.01.2022 Have you noticed a change in your fitness routine or ability during isolation? A great way to get back on track is to start jogging! It’s arguably the fastest way to increase your aerobic fitness levels and is low cost - you can basically do it anywhere! As golfers, this type of exercise comes with some recovery implications. Are you aware of what they are as part of a balanced weekly golf-specific exercise programme?

02.01.2022 Hand walks or Inchworms are a great exercise to add to your warm-ups or training programme. It challenges hamstring and posterior chain flexibility and shoulder on trunk integrity. It’s also a great activity to strengthen the core. However, like all exercises, correct technique is a must! We recommend consulting a professional like a Golf Athlete accredited professional to ensure your form is strong, effective and safe.
