25.01.2022 Meet a Good Food Groupie! This is Sam, one of our newest Good Foodies, who was introduced by one of most enthusiastic Good Foodies, Laura! Thanks for the connection Laura. Here's a bit about Sam in his own words : From Bundaberg, I am the youngest of 4 (2 brothers and a sister), moved here in 2013 to study Civil Engineering. Graduated in 2017 and worked for 2 years as an engineer. I’ve been travelling on and off for the last 2 years, I’ve spent 6 months in Europe (Collectiv...ely 2 lots of 3 months) and 6 months in Colombia (where I learnt to speak Spanish). It’s important for me to eat organic foods for two main reasons: I like to know that the products I buy are ethically sourced and that they are of a high quality. I am a bit of an environmentalist. I ride a push bike rather than driving a car (both for environmental and health purposes). I really dislike single use plastics and am constantly trying to reduce my use of them as well as search for alternatives. I am a super active person (competitive beach volley player) and am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle both through exercise and diet. I eat a plant-based diet and really try to make sure that I’m getting sufficient nutrients. The GFG helps me buy a lot of the dry foods that I need to support my diet whilst significantly reducing the price when comparing the cost to supermarkets. GFG also try to minimise waste and their environmental footprint by sourcing their products through sustainable and ethical companies. I am a passionate beach volleyball player and apprentice coach and love seeing the beach volleyball community grow in the sunshine coast. I can not talk highly enough of coach Peter Chico Jones and the Sunshine Coast Beach Volleyball club (sunshinecoastBV) located in Mooloolaba. They are continually expanding and promoting the incredible sport of Beach Volley. -- Delighted to have you part of the group Sam. Love having such a mix of people and interests. If you wanna become a Good Foodie too, it's free to join and our current order is open for another 12 days, just message your email address to get signed up!

23.01.2022 Mmmmmm what perfect chai weather!! I’ve just opened a split of a 1kg bag of organic chai masala and claimed 250gms of it, which means there’s 750gms left for one or three people, depending on how much you want. It’s delicious, one of our members bought the kilo pack last order and kindly let me have a little bit to sample! Thanks Paula! - Typically in ‘splits’ you can get 250gms of a thing if it’s over $40/kg, otherwise the minimum order is 500gms, but I’m willing to ma...ke exceptions for spices, so yep you only need to order 250gms. Delicious, organic, super easy chai! Yum! - Current order closes in just over 2 weeks, check out our website if you haven’t quite figured out what we’re up to yet! Or send a message. See more

23.01.2022 Go big or go home! How much do you pay for organic, cold-pressed, virgin coconut oil? How does less than $15 a litre sound? Good? Yep, good!! Not a fan of the coconut flavour but like a high smoke point for cooking? The purified/flavourless organic coconut oil is even cheaper per litre! Staples like this that last well and you know you're going to keep using are the kinds of things that you might as well get the big options for and just decant yourself. Or split it with a ...friend or housemate. Or rub it all over your fine self and feel the organic goodness inside and out! Our final order of the year is open for just two more weeks, so in ya pop! If you're not a member yet, just send me your email address and I'll get you signed up- it's free to sign up and there's no minimum order or order frequency. Just order what you want, when you want.

21.01.2022 Yup, we’re heading towards order close again! You’ve got until 8pm next Monday 6th July to get your order in for this month! So if you were waiting for the perfect time to buy so much bulk organic peanut butter that you could build a wall, now’s your chance! (Life goals right?! )

21.01.2022 Guys.... You're witnessing a lifetime first!! Tomorrow is split/pick-up day and I still have choc drops left from last order! This has NEVER happened before! Apparently there is a thing as too much chocolate!! Whhhhhaaaatttt?? You probably haven't been eating as much chocolate as me though, so maybe you wanna get in and order some? That's right, we're not juuuuust about the super clean goodness... We're also about a little (or a lot!) of chocolate! And licorice, we have that too. Win! 20.01.2022 So we've established by now that I'm a pretty lazy food photographer! But I'm a pretty inspired food creator! Homemade chocolate with caramelized pepitas. Coconut sugar and a dash of maple to caramelized the pepitas. Then cacao/cocoa powder mixed with cacao butter, maple syrup, and coconut cream powder for the chocolate. Mmmmm, yum! All ingredients except the coconut cream powder available organic and at excellent discounts through The Good Food Group. Bulk, already made chocolate drops and other goodies also available. If you're gonna be decadent, do it properly. Organic, ethically sourced, and kind to your wallet. Get into it!

20.01.2022 I think the graphic kinda says everything I wanna say right now! www.thegoodfoodgroupsunshinecoast.com for more info. X

18.01.2022 Homemade moisturising massage bars! In a bid to reduce plastic consumption, get more natural in my skincare, and just collect some cute homesteading hipster points, I made these last night. I’d made some a few years back, but those had beeswax in them, these don’t. These are suuuuper simple and are just 2 parts cacao butter (available through The Good Food Group), to one part Shea butter (I got some from eBay), and one part liquid oil of your choice (Apricot, macadamia, oli...ve and more available through GFG too!). So that’s, for example, 2 tablespoons cacao butter, 1 tablespoon each of oil and Shea butter. Melt, mix in essential oils of your choice, pour into molds and leave to set. (Can be set in the fridge.) Ta da, eco friendly goodness! (I made heaps of chocolate using the same molds, I had to keep reminding myself that these things aren’t for eating! So maybe keep out of reach of children too? Or adults like me??) - Our next order opens on Monday night- all you have to do to sign up is send me your email address. See more

17.01.2022 Ahhhh yay!! Today was excellent! These 4 superstar helpers smashed out the splitting of dozens and dozens of kilos of organic whole foods in record time, I was feeling organised and on top of those few little things that have been bumpy previously, and everyone who came to pick up their order was lovely. Thanks Good Food Groupies for your time, your dollars, your passion for health, and your delight at having found this venture. Always a pleasure my friends, enjoy the well stocked cupboards (make sure you put things in airtight containers ASAP!), order up big, tell your friends, and I’ll see you in a month! Yeeeeee ha!

12.01.2022 Not gonna lie... This is THE BEST vegan chocolate mousse I've ever eaten in my life! I was just experimenting, thinking I'd make a variation on my standard vegan choc chia mousse... But then this happened! No chia! Totally smooth and ridiculously decadent. Mmmmm, sharing it was hard! I don't measure things, so you're going to have to experiment and use your own Spidey senses on this one, but I can tell you what's in there:... Can of Coconut milk/cream Cacao/cocoa powder- to your taste Liquid sweetener (maple syrup, agave, rice bran syrup, coconut nectar, or honey) Tahini, solid dollop of Pinch of salt Splash of vanilla Melted cacao butter, a couple of tablespoons maybe Orange oil, 3 drops or so Cinnamon powder, just a sprinkle Mix it all together slowly then whip it, whip it reaaaaaaal good!!! Set in the fridge. I sprinkled some choc drops on top too. Ahhhhh food orgasm! AND just about all of these things you can get through The Good Food Group! Huzzah! Bring on the yum!

10.01.2022 Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuu to this month's excellent crew of helpers! Legends!! It may look like chaos, but it's actually very organised chaos! And the many hands definitely make it light work. Thank you!!... G P.S. Our FINAL ORDER OF THE YEAR is open now!

10.01.2022 I know I've been a little quiet on the socials this month... Been riding some big existential waves, ya know?! Far out, life feels intense at the moment! But we still need to eat, and eating the best food we can find is a really helpful step. Our August order closes soon, so get in touch if you'd like to jump on board, or get your order in if you're already signed up. ... Lotsa love and more updates coming soon. G

09.01.2022 How gorgeous is this pic! Sent in by one of our regular Good Food Groupies. A little selection of some of her order this month in all its low plastic glory. (There was more, it just didn't fit in this photo.) And what about the cute little hand of her toddler reaching for the organic chocolate drops?? I know of some much bigger hands that have been doing a lot of that very same action! I love that there are some many families getting on-board with this group, so many families where it's normal that the little ones eat seaweed as a snack and love it, it's normal that food comes in calico and paper bags, and it's normal to be surrounded by abundant jars full of organic wholefood goodness. Ah yay, it makes me happy!!

07.01.2022 Meet a Good Food Groupie! :) Grab a cuppa and get to know another one of our quirky and interesting members. :) -- Seven de Shan is an artist who creates illustrations and paintings that focus on Pop Culture. She designs portraits of people's favourite characters from superheroes to music and movie stars as well as fairy tales in her signature big-eyed style.... You can find de Shan's work in public collections at "You Had Me at Hello" café in Maroochydore, and New Farm Brisbane's "Da' Burger". She also sells her work in hip gift boutiques such as The Tangerine Fox in Adelaide’s trendy downtown district and Leongatha Victoria’s bespoke frame shop Four Corners Framing. She also has a website where you can check out all the characters: www.foxanddollbaby.com.au. Seven was born in Adelaide Australia, learned how to tie her shoelaces in Lusaka Africa, started school in Sydney Australia (and finished in Toowoomba), she raised hell in Brisbane, studied and started her art business in Oklahoma USA and is now successfully running her business in a picturesque treehouse on the stunning Sunshine Coast of Australia. Her father’s pipeline work took them all over the world as a child until they settled in Toowoomba when she was 9. While she loved Australia and the Quarter Horse ranch life in which her mother and American father raised her, her curiosity was piqued by the cowboy life and she moved to her dad's native Oklahoma where she lived for 18 years. Seven graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her bachelor's degree in painting and her master's degree in printmaking. In between the two, she flirted with Astrophysics for two years. When she was on the ranch as a youngster, Seven’s chores included feeding all the horses, the 30 chickens, 2 ducks, 1 turkey, 2 dogs, 2 cats and harvesting from the acre of fruit and vegetable gardens. This was where her passion for good food and the importance of cooking with fresh and well-cared for products came to be a part of her daily routine. When she’s not in her studio creating, or at the markets, Seven loves to enjoy fitness classes in her group from Yandina, cycling the beach trails from Caloundra to Noosa, camping and four-wheel-driving with her partner on Fraser Island, and just generally enjoying sunbathing and swimming at the beach. Cooking good food is part of their daily routine as well, and they’re currently trying to eat more plant-based foods and experimenting with those recipes. Naturally, Seven was super excited to hear about the Good Food Group because it was a cheaper outlet to obtain the kinds of food they want to eat, while being more eco friendly with the group bulk buying. If you’re keen to find a super funky gift for the hard-to-buy-for person in your life, be sure to visit her website www.foxanddollbaby.com.au and for being a GFG member*, please enjoy a 20% discount using the codeword SXJBX9BQ. *This code is available only if you are a GFG member.

06.01.2022 I started this group 'cause I feeling perpetually annoyed at how bloody expensive it was to get good quality organic dry goods (without supporting the bully brother supermarket duopoly). And the feeling of the savings I'm making, and giving other people access to those savings is great... But really, my favourite bit is the helpers who come and joyfully give their time to keep this baby running! You guys super delight me! I've been in happy tears of gratitude for the support more than once. To everyone who supports this adventure so abundantly, including @goodharvestorganicfarm who let us use the venue for free, THANK YOU!!!

06.01.2022 Thank you, thank you, always thank you and HOORAY for the Good Foodies who give their time and love and excellent food wrangling skills to get the orders ready for the entire group. Every single one of these women have helped out at least once before, some of them almost every time! Thank you. We always welcome and want new helpers to make the load lighter and the experience more fun and efficient. As a community enterprise, we literally couldn't continue without this kind... of happy, enthusiastic, full bodied support. If you're a Good Foodie enjoying your recent supplies today, you've got this little team to thank. Also massive thanks to @goodharvestorganicfarm for letting us use their warehouse rent free! Your support of community initiatives that promote the health of all of us is pure gold. (And thanks for all the work you do feeding hundreds of families the best fresh organic produce around! ) Our August order is open now, splits are filling fast. Get in touch if you want to join the goodness.

04.01.2022 One of our Good Food Groupies had a sad story the other day... She misjudged how much organic tricoloured quinoa her family would eat and ran out! (Oh the hipster-est of problems! ) The sucky bit is that she ended up paying $13 for 500gms of the stuff at her local grocery store. $13!! Ewwww! Get it from us and it's less than $5 for 500gms. Noice! 9 days until the last order of the year closes. Get organised, save your fine self a bunch of cashola! Wiiiiin!! Signing up is free. Check out the website for all the details.

04.01.2022 Mmmmmmm Muesli slice! Featuring organic oats, dates, apricots, coconut, peanut butter, tahini, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, coconut oil, and more! Alllll bought through The Good Food Group at much better prices than regular retail! Winning! I rarely use recipes and just winged (wung?!? ) this concoction, but @minimalistbaker have some excellent recipes for you recipe loving folk. August order closes on Sunday night, but you can sign up (for free) anytime and get in on the next order.

03.01.2022 Ummmm YUM!! One of our Good Food Groupies, Suz, has been cooking up a storm with a whole bunch of ingredients supplied at almost wholesale prices through our buying group! Organic flours, nuts, dried fruit, sugars, oils, milks, and spices are just some of the baking goods you can get through us! It's free to join and our latest order opened today! Get in touch if it's finally time to try us out.

03.01.2022 Kind of speaks for itself really! If you’re not used to buying in bulk though, it can take a bit to really understand the savings potential in joining with other people to unlock awesome prices. Luckily, we’ve got a whole bunch of Good Food Groupies already on the savings train and we’d love for you to hop on board! Membership is free and it’s completely obligation free! (Prices are approximate, depending on where else you’re comparing to, and don’t include freight costs... still significant savings no matter what!)
