23.01.2022 So, Ive been thinking a lot about people lately. The common quality among those I LOVE working with the most are KIND people. Kind people rock. Kind people make the juggle worth it and make me want to work that little bit harder, stay up that little bit later to strategise and to constantly be switched on trying to think of innovative ways to maximise their business.... Im sure Im not alone in this realisation. Kindness is such a beautiful quality and Im thankful in my 6 years of running this business that Ive had the opportunity to work with some of the kindest around.

20.01.2022 I started this business five and a half years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. My workplace was encouraging me to return 3 months after having babe and laughed when I suggested returning part -time. Have you ever seen a squishy 3-month-old baby? It just wasnt an option for me. My first client was a big one, and I remember sitting in my hospital room waiting for my son to make an appearance while I was finalising their corporate website.... Every year since, I have gained new clients, all through referrals and WOM and this year (being the strangest and most uncertain year to date) Ive reached a point where Im politely turning down clients. This is huge for me, because 1) Im a people pleaser and I dont like letting people down 2) Ive reached client capacity (YAY) and 3) I love the beautiful mix of clients I have acquired (theyre kind, authentic and ethical and just really good people). So tonight, Im celebrating with a glass of wine (and working at the same time haha). Thank you so much for the referrals lovely people and I hope I do you all proud!

20.01.2022 I must confess, I bought this book back in November and have only just started reading it. Well, really reading it. I started from the beginning in November because thats where youre meant to start right? And I couldnt get into it immediately with background noise and a never ending to do list, so I stopped. This morning, after a 2 day migraine, my lovely husband surprised me with my favourite coffee and told me to take some time out for me.... I retreated to my favourite room in our house and cosied up in my favourite chair and started again. This time flicking through to the chapter on Debunking the Vulnerability Myths. And omgeee. WOW just WOW. So many aha moments. I couldnt stop turning the pages, reading at lightening speed and then returning to the paragraphs that resonated the most with me, and absorbing their goodness a little bit more. Thank you to Courage Hearts for opening my eyes to the work of @brenebrown and I cant wait to really read the rest of her books with my eyes wide open. See more

14.01.2022 One of my goals for 2020 is to get really good at video and animation. I just love it when posts come alive. Its early days yet but thanks to @canva and their constant innovation, its so easy to magically create animated designs.... To create this quick animation, I took a picture of a loose Pink Argyle Diamond at @brinkhausejewellers and uploaded it to Canva. I then used the background remover to remove the background noise, lightened the image and copied and pasted it onto an Instagram template. Adding a background, I then played with the size of the stones and the animations available. Its super easy and lots of fun. Whats one thing you would like to learn or improve upon this year? 11.01.2022 What is your sweet spot? A sweet spot is the crossover between what you know and what your customers need to know. It may be something that is SO ingrained in your business that you dont recognise it straight away.... Once you have identified it, run with it and educate your audience by the way of captions, blog posts and more! You are the expert in your field, so share the love and the love with be returned.

Of course, there are always things that come up that are time critical so Im always flexible and adaptable in my approach.... 04.01.2022 Did you know that @canva has only been around since 2012? It has TOTALLY revolutionised the graphic design space in just 8 short years. Yes, I still use Photoshop for things like editing, but these days 90% of my design time is spent on this awesome platform.

03.01.2022 When was the last time you were truly creative? For me, creativity is exciting but its also a little bit scary, its taking chances and being vulnerable. Like the time I took a watercolour painting class and was surrounded by incredible artists, or the time I started learning Japanese and met the most amazing people.... At the moment, for me, its limited to LEGO building and colouring in, however Im lucky that my job requires me to be somewhat creative on a daily basis. One day soon, I want to take up pottery, coding and get back into jewellery design. How about you? See more
