11.01.2022 So you are trying to make the switch to healthier products but still confused about the labels and what to look for to avoid? Yes, it can get pretty overwhelming with different thickeners, numbers, derivatives, colours etc... The less you understand the ingredients the more you should ditch it... Look for sugar free options - why do we need sugar in soy sauce (in the picture!) or mustard (I dare you to have a look at the one in your fridge and I bet it contains sugar)! ...Choose organic tamari instead of conventional soy sauce and have quick look for the sugar at the ingredients list next time you buy your mustard Wheat free is the way to go (why do we need wheat in a liquid at the first place?!!). READ YOUR LABELS. Get used to avoiding few most common offenders such msg, wheat or sugar... It's a great start and good way of getting your head around it. I will be sharing some of my most common pantry swaps . It's a step by step process... It's a mindset shift and a bit of a journey. Do you read your labels??? Are you confused looking at the ingredients lists???
09.01.2022 Homemade is better than store bought. Yup. Big statement . I have been trying to find a good quality muesli to stock up our pantry when I'm away (yup...im away for a while leaving my fam behind ). I was happy to pay the extra, $$$ just to make my life and their mornings easier but FOUND NOTHING. All filled with unnecessary sugars, fillers and synthetic crap... I'm all up for easy but I refuse to feed my family sugar for breakfast. FULL STOP. I was given this recipe by my amazing friend and with few tweaks it's just . Made heaps and it will be served natural yoghurt. I will share the recipe soon... when I get over my jet lag of course. I'm sure there must be some brands out there without all that crapola... give it to me... Share your favourite #crapfree muesli brands!! #muesli #granolarecipe #granolabar
